So after running all over the beach, feeling like a superstar couple because we were being chased by paparazzi (aka our groomsmen and family members), we gave all of the leis away to our guests and got ready to start the ceremony.

That morning right before we left, Mr Poodle told me his mom wanted to talk to me. I was a little nervous but I rushed over to her house. Since I had my ‘New’ and ‘Blue’ (the dress, which was more turquoise than blue, but I didn’t mind) she said I should not worry about the ‘Borrowed’ or ‘Old’, because she had the perfect idea.
She had this little cute box for me, and when I opened it, I saw this:

The ring belong to my FMIL’s Grandma—it was her engagement ring. When Mr. Poodle’s parents got married, my FMIL’s mom gave her the same little box with the ring and a note on the inside. She used the exact same box and wrote me a note on the back of hers. I started crying the minute I read it… it was so sweet and I’m really happy I got to wear it on this day.
I’m looking forward to borrowing it again for our April wedding.
We all gathered together, and our friend and ordained minister Carl started the ceremony.

I cannot really remember all of his words, and I was so nervous that I forgot to let my bouquet go! I held on to it every single second.

… and I laughed for like, half of the ceremony, just because I was so nervous. But at the same time, I’m really happy we got to practice with this ceremony, so I don’t mess up our ceremony in April.

Once we got to the vows I was a lot more calm and I got to enjoy all of Mr. Poodle’s words.

It was really awesome to be there looking him in the eyes, knowing that we are going to be together for good.

… But when my time came to repeat the vows, toward the end our minister got a little nervous and started to talk really fast, and even though I did pretty good most of the time, I ended up GETTING LOST!
I could not remember what he had just said, so I asked him to repeat it, and since I didn’t get it the second time either, I ended up just saying, “Everything he said…”

I felt so dumb… but it ended up being the highlight of our ceremony and my FMIL’s favorite moment ever. LOL!
So after everyone stopped laughing, we moved on to the sand ceremony.

We listened carefully to all of the words and got ready for the best part of all!

The minister said, “I now pronounce you Husband and Wife…”

“… you may kiss the bride!”

Ohh, I was so excited! Because we did not exchange rings during this ceremony (we are saving all that for April) we decided to exchange carabiners, that we engraved with cute messages for each other.

So, after we sealed our sand jar, we were ready for hugs and more pictures!

Here we are with my new family!

And we were ready to go have something to eat!

But before that, a little shot of our married faces.

After the ceremony we all went to Fratello for some Italian food, which was pretty awesome.

And after finding this:

… all over Mr. Poodle’s truck, we headed back home.
It was an amazing day that both of us will always remember, and even though it was not our actual wedding it felt like a cool rehearsal day, because now we know things we don’t have to do and faces we have to avoid. LOL
Our legal ceremony was so much fun. It was kind of crazy to see how something that was supposed to be so small eventually evolved into our beach legal ceremony.
And just to let you know, even though we are legally married, this ceremony was just to complete our visa papers. The April wedding will be the one we will celebrate as our anniversary, so that’s why I will be Miss Poodle until then.
