Mrs. Sunbeam's Picture
Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PA Age and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion Designer Engagement Date: May 10, 2008 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane Farm About Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
About Mrs. Sunbeam

The time had finally arrived. It was time to slip on the dress I’d been wanting to wear every day for the last 3 months that it had been hanging in my closet. Would it fit OK? Would it look as fabulous as I had remembered? Would Groombeam love it?? We were all getting ready in my old bedroom which I had always thought was large—until you get a bride, five bridesmaids, and two photographers into it! So, my Maid of Honor had the solo role of getting me into my dress. And with one zip, I became a bride.

Zip!

Now the finishing touch…

And there I was! The bride!

I’ll say it again. I love my dress. I gave it a quick swishy swoosh to fluff it out. The dress felt great! Not too heavy, not too tight, yet it clung to my curves perfectly. I gave my MOH the official task of being my bustler, but once everyone saw all the ties underneath…

Hometown Love: Sunbeam Becomes a BRIDEbeam : wedding pictures pro pics recap Rad0250 ..it became a group activity! We did a quick unbustle and rebustle to make sure I’d be set for the ceremony.

** A million and one ties later…

… and I was all READY! At this point the weather outside was gray, and drizzling on and off, so I opted to have my dress bustled for our first look and didn’t think about unbustling until the ceremony. Looking back I should have let go and gone unbustled for more of our shots, but le sigh, I was too worried about getting it dirty! Silly bride. It’s going to get dirty no matter what, so you might as well show off your fabulous train.

My excitement officially hit the roof when I was all zipped up in my dress and ready for action. Words cannot describe how excited I was, but I’m guessing the crazy happy face photos will give you an idea… like this one, which gives a new meaning to calling myself Bridebeam:

This is the face I made when asked to make a serious face, you know, like in all those romantic bridal portraits out there. Ah well! That smile could not be erased!

I gave my hair one last fix…

… made sure the dress was looking fabulous…

… had a moment with my Mom…

… and then it was time to head out and see my Groom!

I did the SAME thing with the bustle - bustled it for the first look and pics, and was scared to take the bustle down because it would get dirty. But like you said, it got dirty either way, and I have zero pics of my train. :( Glad I’m not the only one!

Your dress = amazing!

Be glad I wasn’t one of your bridesmaids, I would have run screaming if I’d seen all those ties! I really really like your hair though, it’s super cute!

Aw, it’s so cute how you couldn’t get rid of your smile! I was the same. I had a giant ‘could fit a clothes hanger in there’ smile ALL DAY.
