Executive Inspiration

November 28th, 2009 @ 1:00 pm by Mrs. Hot Cocoa

Now that we’re married, I know I should stop seeing “wedding” everywhere. But I saw these gorgeous photos from the White House State dinner, and my inspiration radar just went up.

The emerald and fuchsia! The gold and amethyst! The stunning chandeliers, chic menus, and elegant chargers.

And while we’re at it, let’s just appreciate the gloriousness that is Michelle’s dress. I’d wear that as a wedding gown. In a heartbeat.

Are you finding wedding inspiration in the Obamas’ style?

Oh wow, those chandeliers are amazing! And that tent. Unnng. Everything is fabulous, but the two things I could use are the tents… and chandeliers… and maybe some of the flowers. :p

AND that FANfreakingtastic tux.

The White House State Dinner was beautiful; I can only imagine how much it cost!

Is it just me, though, or should they have folded the napkins about an inch wider? I don’t really like how they have the napkin/menus arranged.

I love the look of a tent with clear ceilings or sidewalls, so elegant!

i love that there are several other people taking pictures of the table settings as well!

@Miss Dachshund: i agree. the menus sticking out like that are annoying me. lol

I second Miss Dachshund’s opinion about the napkins. It would have looked better with the menus tucked all the way inside. That being said, that’s GORGEOUS! And those chandeliers are fabulous. My mom was looking through my inspiration pictures and that was the one theme she noticed throughout all of them, the massive chandeliers.

Oooooh - thanks for posting! I had seen pictures of Mrs. Obama’s dress and instantly thought: dream wedding dress but I hadn’t seen photos inside the tent. Gorgeous!!

Gorgeous! That would make a stunning wedding! And I also agree with Miss Dachshund, either the napkins needed to be folded wider, or the menu shouldn’t have been so wide.

hahah I actually thought of WEDDING when I first saw the decorations of the reception. :-P Chivari chairs. tall floral centerpieces. Looks like a wedding to me! :)

Mega-inspiration! I’d totally wear that gown as a wedding dress, too–if I could look half as good as Michelle!
