Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, DallasAge and Occupation: 28, Special Projects CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity TraderEngagement Date: March 19, 2009Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: Marie Gabrielle, DallasAbout Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
For some reason I’ve felt like our wedding was losing some of its vintage appeal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about the direction it’s heading in, but I want to be sure that I stick to my original plan of vintage yet modern. Well, thankfully I stumbled on Three Potato Four.
You see, I’m not much of a bargain shopper, nor am I able to find hidden gems at Goodwill or the Flea Market. It feels like a curse. I see all the amazing things people have acquired at said shops, but I just don’t have that skill. I need to be able to look through things in an organized manner, and finding vintage items online is the perfect way to do that.
I’ve never seen anything so cute. I would continue to use this even after the wedding. Read more…
Mrs. Hot Dog, Cheyenne, WYAge and Occupation: 23, Health Information SpecialistFiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Personal Trainer
Engagement Date: March 2009Wedding Date: August 2010Venue: Family Ranch outside Glenrock, WYAbout Me: I'm a city girl by birth and rural girl by choice. I'm ready to take on the world with a big heart and a big smile! I love all things crafty and DIY. I live in Cheyenne, WY with Mr. HD and our 2 fur babies, our dachshunds, Ollie and Mia. I love travel, adventure, Finding Nemo, '90s music, animals, and laughing. He is the cheese to my macaroni and together we spend more time watching movies than we probably should! I'm an old soul who is super duper excited to pull off our down home-rustic-chic-country wedding (on the cheap)!
HeLLLLOOOOOOOO hive! I cannot BEELIEVE I’ve been chosen to blog here! I just celebrated my 23rd birthday and this is the best gift! I received the email last night and seriously thought I was dreaming! I had to check it again this morning when I woke up, at which time I gave myself a bear hug and did a little hip-wiggling celebratory dance!
So, why Miss Hot Dog? Well Mr. HD and I have two fur babies, Olie and Mia, and they happen to be of the weiner dog variety. And since a wonderful bee already beat me to the Dachshund moniker, Hot Dog seemed the next best thing!
I met H.Dawg in my senior year of high school. He was helping our cheerleading squad prepare for state and I was smitten. But speechless. So nothing happened. Then, freshman year of college, guess who was at cheerleading tryouts? Yup. The rest is history! We’ve been through our ups and downs and have both put each other through a lot. But we’ve come out all the better for it. Read more…
Ms. Potato Chips, Boston/Narragansett RIAge and Occupation: 29, PhD StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Personal Trainer/Business Owner/Physical Therapy AssistantEngagement Date: January 1, 2009Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: The Narragansett TowersAbout Me: A semi-professional bookworm, if I could be a literary character I’d be a cross between Jo March and Jane Eyre, only better accessorized and much lazier. My hobbies include sleeping in, seasonal brews, running, Trader Joe’s, and watching Unwrapped and Good Eats with Mr. Potato Chips. I harbor an irrational fear of tulle, crafts, things that are fussy, and overuse of the phrase "Your Special Day". After a year or seven together, down the aisle we go, slouching toward adulthood and planning a Rhodie party with equal parts whimsy, cheer, and pizza.
Might I offer a humble contribution to the wedding lexicon?
Bridol -noun- 1. a bride who becomes your idol or role model; 2. a previously engaged woman (or man) whose planning style and general attitude invoked feelings of respect and admiration.
I’ve had many bridols. It goes without saying that I pretty much worship all past and present bees for their design skills, DIY savvy, can-do attitudes, and general awesomeness. I’ve also been lucky enough to have some real-life bridols close to my heart.
There’s been my super-organized pal whose dress cost even less than mine, who forgave me when I missed (missed!) her beautiful wedding to study Shakespeare in London (bad, right? I know).
There’s been my lovely friend who pulled off a gorgeous, romantic Boston wedding. She provided the bridesmaids with lollipop bouquets at the rehearsal and flip flops to wear at the reception; no detail was overlooked. Read more…
Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PAAge and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion DesignerEngagement Date: May 10, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane FarmAbout Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
We had just finished up our rehearsal and moseyed on down to my parents’ house for dessert. But before we went inside, one of our fabulous friends pulled us aside to take some photos of us with the sunset. When he couldn’t find a good spot for us with the sunset, it turned into a little pre-wedding mini-shoot! Read more…

Mrs. Trail Mix, New YorkAge and Occupation: 26, PE TeacherFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, MBA StudentEngagement Date: March 2009Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: Tannery Pond at the Darrow SchoolAbout Me: I'm a country girl who somehow found herself living in the Big Apple and loving every minute of it. I'm planning a rustic, country-chic wedding in my hometown in upstate New York and it's going to be a Party with a capital P. White wine, flea markets and running keep me happy and my friends, family and fiance are my world. I'm a little bit crafty, a little bit crazy but mostly just crazy in love.
Did anyone else’s college have a housing lottery? It was always kind of stressful, trying to figure out who was going to live with whom and how to best configure all your friends in the best location possible. Well, that is how I feel about figuring out hotel logistics for the wedding.
Mrs. Spaniel, Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 28, Law StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, PsychologistWedding Date: March 2010Venue: Calamigos RanchAbout Me: I'm a third-year law student trying to balance graduating with starting my career, keeping up a relationship, and, oh yeah, planning an Old World, multi-cultural, "mountain lodge" wedding for 180 guests! A South Asian Jewish girl getting ready to marry my handsome Catholic Dane, I'm hoping to blend our cultures in our wedding just a bit more gently than by providing samosas as appetizers and offering æbleskiver for dessert. (Although that would also be awesome.)
Like just about everything else I came up with in a year-and-a-half engagement, I’ve changed my mind about the dress many times. This was my first dream dress.
So much fun! Miss Pizza and her new husband go bowling.

Mrs. Pudding, Greater Toronto Area/VermontAge and Occupation: 26, High School TeacherFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Computer EngineerEngagement Date: August 2008Wedding Date: July 2010Venue: Catholic Ceremony, Cultural Hall ReceptionAbout Me: Quite literally a citizen of the world, I was born in Poland, grew up in Canada, and now live in the beautiful state of Vermont. I love reading historical biographies, multi-tasking, teasing my hair, and, despite my height, wearing high heeled shoes. I am the ultimate klutz with an uncanny ability to put on a graceful front. Mr. Pudding and I have been dating for over six years, and are very excited to finally merge our (very large) families. We are planning a traditional Polish-Catholic wedding that is anything but predictable.
When I first shared our colour scheme of navy, white and yellow with Mama Pudding, she went on a little rant about how in Poland yellow flowers symbolize unfaithfulness. Even though I am not very superstitious, I don’t really know how I feel about our wedding making all of our Polish guests think of cheating. Mama P then suggested that I change the yellow to bright pink. So, I (quickly) made two inspiration boards to get a visual as to what a navy and white wedding with yellow or pink accents would look like.
Mrs. Cowboy Boot, Santa FeAge and Occupation: 25, Magazine EditorFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting GuideEngagement Date: April 28th, 2008Wedding Date: October 2009Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, ColoradoAbout Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
The day started off as golden as I wrote to all of you, with sunlight striping the pines in front of our cabin. I woke up around 8 AM with Mr. CB beside me. I slipped out of bed, took a quick bath, and then pulled on my merino wool sweats and my “Soon to Be Mrs…” tank I’d received for my shower.
Luckily, my bridesmaids were in the cabin right next door so I didn’t have far to go. The makeup artist, Liz from Bobbi Brown, and the hairstylist, Candace from Denver’s Hot Heads Salon arrived at 9 AM and started getting some of the girls going. I got to their cabin at 9:30 to find coffee and bagels waiting. I was ready to start the day.
My hair was set in curlers to give it body. While I waited for those curls to set, Liz did my makeup.
Mrs. French Bulldog, Orange CountyAge and Occupation: 28, Administrative Assistant & Interior Design StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing AnalystEngagement Date: November 8, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Bernardo WineryAbout Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
My day actually started out pretty early. My sister and I stayed in the same hotel room at the Rancho Bernardo Inn the night before. We both had to shower, get all of our crap together and get over to my parents’ (larger) room to get ready. I also had to make sure everything I brought with me was packed and put together separate from Sister Frenchie’s things. The hotel was going to pick up my luggage and relocate it to Mr Frenchie’s and my room once it was available.
Sister Frenchie and Mama Frenchie had a 9:30 hair appointment and my makeup artist was getting to my parents’ room around the same time to start making my bridesmaids prettier, so we booked it over to my parents’ room just in time for Mama Frenchie and Sister Frenchie to head off to the salon.
This portion of the morning was all a blur to me. While Mama Frenchie and Sister Frenchie had hair appointments I decided to do my hair myself. My morning went something like this… Read more…
Mrs. Rainbow, TampaAge and Occupation: 22, Makeup ArtistFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Electrical Engineer/ProgrammerEngagement Date: November 27, 2008Wedding Date: May 2010Venue: The Gamble PlantationAbout Me: I'm a quirky (and slightly Type-A) freelance makeup artist who was born in Washington State, raised in Alabama, and now living with my one and only in sunny Florida. I'm fashion and beauty obsessed, and have recently discovered my inner domestic diva extraordinaire. I'm a wannabe chef, decorating addict, and trying desperately to be as crafty as possible---albeit only with a glue gun. I'm hopelessly in love with my fiance, and all things sparkly and feathery. Despite the glittery exterior, I'm a total hippie on the inside. When I'm not making up pretty faces, I love doing what I can to help people, animals, and the environment. Someday the FI and I will change the world, but first we're tackling our modern-vintage-Marie-Antoinette-meets-Alice-in-Wonderland inspired wedding. I just can't wait to be Mrs. Rainbow!
Lately, I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to jazz up our table numbers. Granted, we’re having a very small wedding and will only need 6 tables to accommodate our guests, but still. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve got Bride Brain, and with Bride Brain comes the irrational desire to incorporate every cute detail that I come across, no matter how small. So, naturally, while surfing Weddingbee—particularly Mrs. Perfume’s archives, as I’ve found that we have an almost identical sense of style, I came across these:

Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
I used some scraps of raw silk, silk chiffon, lace and some beads that I had lying around. I ended up not using the pearls pictured.
I took the silk and ironed on the first side of the two-sided iron on stuff. Read more…

Did you like my little pun in the title? If you haven’t already figured this out, I am beyond obsessed with mason jars in general. Blue Ball mason jars, specifically. I’ve already found enough to serve as flower holders for the centerpieces at our wedding, so I thought I’d do a little research and find some inspiration for the flowers and settings of these beautiful jars. Here we go…
There’s just something about the combination of blue and yellow that slays me every time. I like both of these flower arrangements, even though they’re very different.

When I got the email from Pengy on an otherwise nondescript Monday night, I think I flapped my arms so quickly in my excitement that I may have actually buzzed. Could it be? Was it me? Am I really a bee? Will Mr. Spaniel need to pinch me again?
