Purty Flowers

December 2nd, 2009 @ 12:46 pm by Mrs. Trail Mix

I have been having way too much fun searching for bouquet inspiration. All I can say is that I hope my florist appreciates all my efforts and gets it right!

I am definitely drawn to fluffier flowers such as dahlias, peonies and ranunculus and the mixture of yellow and white flowers (although pale pinks seem to making a frequent appearance, as well). Wanna see my favorites?

I like how this one uses all white flowers with a yellow ribbon tied around the stems…

Somehow, this uniform, pale-pink bouquet has wiggled its way into my heart, even though it’s nothing like the rest of my inspirations, and pink is nowhere to be found in our wedding colors…

I love flowers. I couldn’t imagine our wedding without as many as possible, and obviously, since the bouquet is the start of the show, I want mine to be amazing. But I also want it to be a little bit of a rustic and loose bouquet… nothing too formal and stiff. I’ll be meeting with our florist in January to talk more about the bouquets, but until then, inspiration photos will have to tide me over!

Do you stalk inspiration photos? Or did you let your florist do the dirty work?

I love that pink and white one with the little pops of yellow. Awesome! I say if you want some pink in your bouquet, go for it.

I had the worst time figuring out what flowers I wanted, loved, needed. There was inspiration overload, and so many colors, sizes, styles, ack! It took me a few months and several visits to the florist before I really figured out what would hold up best, fit our style and budget, and not look like my flowers were a random afterthought!

I too love full flowers. I gave my florist so many pictures, so I think she gets it. Plus, she is the florist in most of my inspiration pictures. The only thing I am worried about is that I really love the pictures I picked out and want my flowers to look exactly like them. I have been telling myself there is no way my flowers will be exact so I don’t end up disappointed, but I don’t think it is working. LOL!!! I am a control freak…

I’ve been flower stalking, but got so overwhelmed because I just didn’t know what would be local, in season and inexpensive. I made my florist decision on who “got me” and didn’t want to add on a bunch of extras that I didn’t want. My “official” flowers include: light blue hydrangea, dark red/purple dahlia, orchids, ivory spray roses and other beauties that I never even thought would be available!
