I’m going to have to interrupt my recaps so that I can share the wonder of amazing photography and fun holiday cards. Like other married bees, Mr. Canary and I caught the photography bug and decided to commemorate every wedding anniversary with a photo shoot. That way, we’d always have at least one good photo of ourselves and when we start a family, we can also use them as family portraits.
The hard part was deciding on a photographer. When I began my planning, I was inspired by many brides, but one who really stood out was Yvonne Wong, who I wrote about here. After her wedding, Yvonne started her photography business in Seattle. Mr. Canary and I had a wedding in the Pacific Northwest in August and after a few emails we learned that Yvonne was available at the same time and was totally on board with a couple’s shoot. So, on a beautiful summer afternoon, we met with Yvonne and her husband, David, in Redmond, WA and frolicked through the open fields, laughed, and snuck into an old warehouse and the results were these fantastic shots.

Yvonne and David are a great team and so much fun to work with. I really mean it when I say that. We all hit it off the minute I showed up at Yvonne’s front door and we joked and laugh the whole way through the entire shoot. I felt that I had met two old friends, who happen to be very talented photographers! To see more of Yvonne’s amazing work, check out her blog and website. She’s based in Seattle, WA but travels for weddings.
As for holiday cards, we decided to go with Tiny Prints for many reasons, namely ease of use of their website, beautiful designs, variety of layouts and great deals! We chose the following design:

My favorite part about Tiny Prints is the ability to use multiple pictures in one card. Since some of our friends and family read Weddingbee, I won’t show the entire card, but the within the above design, you can include up to 8 photos + captions on one panel. Tiny Prints also has pop-up card designs! And with various promotions (currently, they’re offering $20 off an order of $75+ with code: TPHOL20) the cards are quite reasonably priced. Working in the Tiny Prints platform saved me a ton of time and energy and I’ll be getting the cards in just a few days versus last year when I slaved over a DIY design, alignment, and submission to a custom printer over a period of two weeks. So, we’re definitely glad we can kick-off the holiday season with some fantastic images and sweet holiday card designs.
