I showed you my lovely lovely shoes in this post, but here’s a refresher anyway (I’m in love, can you tell?):

I also mentioned how I could quite possibly break an ankle (or two) by walking in 4 inch heels in the grass. Frankly, it’s a sacrifice I’m still willing to make. Love makes you do crazy things, doesn’t it?
Now, while I’m willing to sacrifice my comfort and safety for walking down the aisle and the first dance, I will not be working those heels all night. Oh, no, no, no, definitely not. I quickly debated going the flip flip route but… nah. While I’ve seen some cute flip flops, I can wear flip flops every other day of my life, so I’ll have to take a pass for the wedding.
Then I thought about flats. There are tons of cute, comfy, and affordable flats, so on a search I went. Yeah, on second thought, not so much. Sure, there are tons of inexpensive flats, but of course all the flats that I liked erred on the expensive side. I just wanted something… special, sparkly. Apparently sparkly shoes are going to cost ya’.

So one day while browsing TJMaxx from some decorations for our new apartment (yes, we moved while planning a wedding, I don’t recommend it) I saw some shoes with potential.

Honestly, I thought they were a bit blah, but they were purple (one of our colors) and had a 2.5″ wedge- just the right height to still be comfortable. They were only $15, so I thought why not? I could easily buy some shoe clips to fancy them up. It wasn’t until I was searching for a picture of them online that I realized what a steal they were- they’re originally $200 bucks! Score!
Then, continuing my lucky streak, I was walking though JCPenney to get to the main part of the mall and a little twinkle caught my eye. That little twinkle happened to be a table of rhinestone bracelets and brooches that were buy one, get one. I found a pair of brooches that matched our color scheme and snatched them up, only $12 for the pair! Well, slap my ass and call me Suzie, it was my lucky day! Now that I think about it, I should’ve bought a lottery ticket!
Anyway, I took my new finds home, sewed the brooches on, and ended up with this:

The clips were the perfect sparkly touch to fancy up the shoes—they’re definitely not “blah” anymore! Not bad for a $27 purchase, huh?
Are you a two shoe bride? Have you had any wedding shopping lucky streaks?
