The 6th Month Itch

The 6th Month Itch : wedding schedule Static Static+
(Source)

I’ve been feeling a little antsies in my pantsies lately about the wedding. Truthfully, this has been a frustrating week where I’ve accomplished almost nothing, wedding-wise (or really other-wise, for that matter). I’m kind of just wishing the wedding were here already!

Don’t misunderstand, I have really enjoyed the planning process thus far and deep in my soul know that I am glad the wedding is still 6 months away since I will be sad when it’s all over and done with (and there’s still so much to do!).

But right now the anxious, patience-lacking child of 5 inside of me is saying, “I just want the wedding to be nooooooooow…”

After planning for 8 months thus far, the anticipation is killing me but the wedding still seems so far off.

June brides, we’ve officially hit the 6 month countdown. Time to start handling all the little details I’ve avoided thus far (transportation, ugh!) and make this wedding come together. It’s go-time, baby…

Ya feel me? Anyone else realizing how close and yet so far away the wedding seems?

I think I felt this way around the 5 month mark? What helped me enjoy it again, was that I’ll never be engaged again, so I should enjoy it then!

Ditto, TM! I feel like I’m on the cusp of wedding-crunch time. There’s nothing pressing, but tons to do!

You mean to tell me it doesn’t get better? I’ve just hit the 9 month mark and I feel like I’m just spinning my wheels. Too soon to do the invitations (what if one element changes?!?), save the dates are done - just waiting to mail them. I’m starting to create projects for myself, just so I don’t drive FH insane!

Wow, I think we have the same enagement timeline! I, too have been planning for 8 months and we are 6 months away from I Do-day and I am just ready to be done.
I loved planning but there isn’t much to do right now so I am antsy. In three months, I know I will be asking for more time :)

My wedding is May 30th so I’m right there with ya. I’ll be sitting at work and just think…wow, it’s going to be here FAST. Then, I have a minor panic attack. Ha. When I think about how fast our engagement has flown by (we were engaged in March), it really hits how fast 8 months can fly by. It’s okay though…we’ll all get through it! Those details will come together and we’ll have beautiful weddings. Good luck!!

Craaaaap — we really are only 6 months out, aren’t we? Gah! There’s so little to do and so much time to do it in! Wait a second. Strike that. Reverse it. :)

Ha! I feel exactly the same way! Transportation, ugh. Must get on that. I feel like I have all these projects, but it’s ‘too soon’ to do them. Is that even possible? How on earth would it be bad if I got something down now?

I’m 5 months away…haven’t got anything done that I’d planned to do. I’m so behind schedule, but I’m stuck. My biggest problem is the lack of funds. I have the initiative, just nothing to do with it. So I feel you.

I couldn’t agree more! I’m having a destination wedding and while I know most everything is set in stone, I feel like there is still so much to do - both for the wedding itself and the at-home reception!! It’s the weirdest feeling I’ve had thus far…I feel like the pressure is really pounding on and that we’re running out of time - all the while still feeling like it will NEVER arrive!

Oh man. Seeing this post freaks me out! I have wayyyy too much to do wedding wise, not to mention teaching, classes, and work. Eek!

I also feel the “too soon” conundrum. I have craft ideas but it feels silly to start them now. Certainly, I’m being foolish.

between 5-6 months left to go I was feeling the same way. Ready for the date together here, nothing huge on my immediate horizon!

Do everything you can to get ahead…you won’t regret it!

oh, i’m feeling it too! 6 months to go and…14 months down! (plus, i took care of most of the planning before 2009 even rolled around…) but like Mrs. D’O, I always try to remember that I wanted a long engagement because I’ll never be able to say “I’m engaged” or “my boyfriend/fiance” again so it’s a really special time…and then I organize something or clean my house to distract myself! (or read WB ;) )

me too! I feel like I’ve been working on the wedding so much (already engaged for a year!) and yet don’t have much to show for it, so frustrating. With 5 months to go I have a lot to do still but just want it to be here already!!!

I’m starting to feel the pinch too, it’s 6 months out for us as of next Saturday. As of right now I’m feeling good about what’s been accomplished, and I’m actually ahead of schedule with my ‘to do’ list, but I keep having this nagging feeling that it’s all going to catch up with me. I even had a dream the other night that all the yet-to-be-done wedding tasks poured over me and knocked me down, AND it was green like nickelodeon slime! So I’m not feeling like it should be over already, I’m feeling like I wouldn’t mind another month of time before the wedding day!
