Gifts for the Guys

December 8th, 2009 @ 1:06 pm by Mrs. Cheeseburger

Another thing Mr. Burger and I took care of recently was gifts for our bridal party! I’m going to hold off writing about the gifts for the girls for now, so we’ll all just have to settle for a post on groomsmen’s gifts!

We went shopping with the objective of finding ties for the guys (you see, they will be wearing tuxes, but no vests or ties from the shop - just regular old neckties). Remember, the girls are wearing a deep purple, and we figured that it would look great if the guys wore green ties.

Our official color green is sage, but we were looking for anything in the ballpark, really. It was important to Burger that we get “cool” ties - so any of the plain satin ones were out. After striking out at J.Crew, Banana, Kenneth Cole, and some generic “tie store” at the mall, we finally found the goods at Calvin Klein!

Check them out:

Also, the guys will be getting “grown-up” presents as well - cuff links! Gifts for the Guys : wedding groomsman gift Cufflin (source)

They’ll be getting these bad boys with their initials engraved in the middle (Burger is getting a pair, too - surprise!). I think they’ll look really nice, and as far as we know, most of the boys don’t have a pair yet. Like I said, grown-up presents! :)

I really wish I could spill the beans on the presents for my ladies, but I won’t. Yet… :)

What are you gifting your guys?

Very classy gifts–the tie is really cool! I’m sure the groomsmen will appreciate not having to pay for their own ties!

I think HotTeacherintheCity is also gifting his guys ties (they could all use them after they wear them for the wedding) and I think he’s also getting them baseball jerseys for each of their favorite teams :o)

@hotchildinthecity: That’s a great idea! Our mens got grown-up watches, a bottle of booze, and their ties. The ties weren’t anything too exciting, a navy blue pattern, but I know I’ve seen Facebook photos of at least 2 of the guys wearing them :)

nothing like a gift that says: you’re a grown-up now, so no tying a necktie around your head at the reception and dancing/singing like axl rose…actually that sounds pretty fun, grown up or not.

Miss Cheeseburger, if you don’t mind me asking, where did you find those ties? We’ve been looking for nice green ties for our groomsmen as well, but have been having horrible luck!

We’re also doing ties. But we want to do something else. I’m sure my fi will think of something fun.

@Lili316: Hey! We got them at Calvin Klein (the actual store), but I think this one is similar from Macy’s: http://shorl.com/kylabrudetadre

Good luck!

@hotchildinthecity: I love the jersey idea! What a great gift! :)

Very nice ties! Our guys will be in very similar colored ones, and matching vests, from the Men’s Warehouse.

There’s no telling what Mr. KM will decide to get his groomsmen. One is a minister, one is a music producer for movies and TVs, one is his brother who is an architect, and then my brother and my best guy friend! He might need some help, lol.

I love how your Mister is “Burger”. It always reminds me of Sex and the City… minus the whole post-it thing… Yours would never do that, I’m sure. :)
