With the wedding quickly approaching, I’ve been noticing a lot of firsts and lasts that I’m having this year and it’s kinda fun discovering them as they come…

A few firsts:

First time I’ve ever called his mom Kathy
First time I’ve been called Auntie
The wedding trip will be our first vacation together
First time my parents are happy with my choice in a guy
First time my sisters can call their next-door neighbor their brother
First time I can scribble my first name with his last name and it’s actually practice, not my 13-year-old doodles on a textbook

First time I was given prenatal vitamins to try out from my girly doctor
First time my doggies have a real daddy (and they’ve become quite the daddy’s girls)

Lasts:

Celebrated my last birthday as a single girl
Bought and sold my last cars as a single girl

(new car)

Last time I sign a lease with my maiden name
Last time I’ll file my taxes as single
Last Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and St Patty’s Day as an unmarried girl
I’ll never be a girlfriend again, and soon, never a fiance again
He was officially the last boyfriend I’ll ever have (that’s a wonderful thing!)
First time I’ll have 3 moms and 2 dads

My 32nd Birthday

There are so many firsts and lasts I get to experience with Mr. Nachos, my family, and my soon-to-be new family. All these moments mean my life is changing and I’m moving into a new chapter. I love that I get to share it with my friends and family and I’m really excited for the next set of firsts – the first time signing my new name, our first house, our first baby. Change is a wonderful thing, it keeps me on my toes and keeps life exciting, and I love that Mr. Nachos gets to share the future firsts and lasts with me. There’s no better person to enjoy them with because I know he’ll be there next to me enjoying the journey as much as me!

I was thinking about this the other day!!! Thanks for posting!

I’m gaining a niece and a nephew! I’m super excited about that. And I love my sister-in-law! She is fantastic.

And I’m excited about writing my first name and his last name…but for real!!!

Aww, I love this post! You know, my lady doctor also told me I should get on prenatals, and I wondered why. I’m not trying to have a baby! I wonder if they do this to all engaged women?

I have many of the same firsts/lasts as you (and the car one made me chuckle because I totally have a picture like that with the “last” new car I bought last December!).

As for the prenatals, my doc suggested them about a year out from when we plan to start trying. In the meantime, he said that one-a-days for women are just fine.

@KBsquared: I told my doc that we’d probably start trying for little nachos sometime next year so she gave me a HUGE bag full of samples and told me to try them and see which ones didn’t upset my stomach.
