About Mrs. Rainbow

Ring-A-Ding-Ding

December 9th, 2009 @ 2:55 pm by Mrs. Rainbow

I got the man’s ring!

Yup, I bought it this weekend! We picked out his ring a few months back, but we hadn’t thought much about it because you don’t generally have to “jump” on a man’s ring like you have to jump on some women’s rings. Mine, for example, was a limited production so once we found it, we had to scoop it up quick, and good thing we did ’cause now I can’t find a ring like it anywhere. His ring, on the other hand, allowed us to take our sweet time, so that’s just what we did.

Then, on Friday morning, I woke up with a strong urge to “make it official”. Luckily for the both of us, our ring fingers are case-sized (he’s a 10, I’m a 7), so we don’t have to wait to get them sized or anything, we just go to the store, pay for the ring, and it’s ours; easy as pie.

I tell you though, once I officially had Mr. Rainbow’s ring in my possession I was like, “woah, this is really happening.” Of course, I was fully aware that it was already “really happening”, but there was just something about actually having his ring finally. It was exciting, and romantic, and a little bit scary. I think Mr. R even secretly felt that way when he found out that I bought the ring, although he’s not admitting it. When he got home from work that day, he was like a giddy little kid—like he often is when he’s excited—but you didn’t hear that from me. He couldn’t wait to try the ring on, and when he did it fit perfectly. He even asked if he could “wear it for the night to see what it’s like”. After quick consideration, we decided against it, but how cute is it that he wanted to test drive it? Hehe, I love that man, he’s so adorable. Ring-A-Ding-Ding : wedding rings Kiss2 kiss2

And here it is, Mr. Rainbow’s very own ring (or as his friend V likes to call it, “The Noose”. He’s a romantic, can you tell?)

When did you buy your FI’s ring? Did you have a “woah” moment where you realized “this is actually happening”?

@Ms. Min Pin: Oh, I don’t mind at all, It’s tungsten carbide and I got it from Marks & Morgan.

Great ring, it looks very much like Mr. Guinea Pig’s! So cute he wanted to test drive it… I’ll be honest, I sneak a try-on of my wedding band sometimes!

Make sure you keep your wedding rings in a safe place until the wedding! Our first rings got stolen when our house was broken into, like 6 months before the wedding.

the “noose”, hee hee. that is pretty endearing that he wanted to wear it around. the ring looks great! and yes, definitely, getting his ring definitely made it more real and made me realize “oh this is about both of us, isn’t it”.

mrs. mouse: that’s horrible!

Surprise, suprise — we chose tungsten carbide for Mr. FF’s ring, too! :) He also has tried his on a few times (I have caught him trying it on and looking at his reflection in the mirror to see what it looks like — too cute.)

Like Guinea Pig, I sneak try-on sessions with my bands from time to time.

I picked up my wedding band 2 weeks ago. It was on sale (22% off!) and I couldn’t say no. So, 3 weeks after I paid for it, it showed up and I wore it all day - you just can’t leave a purchase like that in your car or at your desk! - and totally had my Whoa! moment.

I like it! And he’ll be happy with the Tungsten Carbide and no scratches. I didn’t have a whoa moment with the ring, mine was when we sent our deposit for the wedding contract.

I love it! I’ve been trying to convince my man to go with Tungsten. He is in construction and was afraid that he would not be able to cut it off if he injured his hand…but I found this today - for all you ladies whose man is has a Tungsten Carbide ring:

It’s so funny that you posted this! We got FI’s ring and met our officiant within a matter of days of one another and I definitely had some “woah!!” moments!

Nice ring!

I LOVE his ring! We’ve been looking at rings online and um… our tastes are not up to par. He likes something with, you know, mother of pearl on it.

… yeah.

It’s so manly! We bought Mr. P’s on a whim–it was the only one that didn’t look totally weird on his hand. : )

That’s a really nice ring! Hubby didn’t want anything to blingy, so it was actually a really simple choice for us :)

I love the quote on the invites, by the way :)
