About Mrs. Cola

We interrupt the regularly scheduled programming (i.e. the Cupcake Tower Finale) to share some funny cartoons titled: Why We’ll Never Understand Each Other.

My mom just forwarded these to me in an email she got from someone else, so I don’t know the original source, but I think they were taken from this book. I found them pretty amusing; how men and women may say one thing, but their partner hears something completely different. I especially love #5 that takes place at a wedding ceremony!

So funny!!! My fiance is a physicist and I’m always running late, so we loved the time-continuum one. I’m going to have to look for more of these! Thanks for the post! :)

Those were pretty cute. ;) We definitely get some wires crossed about being late and getting ready (a la space time continuum)…

We had one of these moments last night. I was having a panic attack about bills and money and asked Mr. B when he was going to be done playing his XBOX because we needed to talk. What he heard? “I’m mad becaue you’re paying attention to a video game instead of me!” NOT the same thing at all.

He said there was a Christmas party with his school friends. I said “OK” to which he replied “you don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” I said “you don’t want me to go?”

Totally! I totally read into FI’s comments too but I find out after the fact I’ve missed the boat.

Ha! Mr. KM and I have the role reversal on the last one. He likes to talk… and talk… and talk… and sometimes I just want to be quiet.

I dunno, I would have found it a lot funnier if it had been pointing out the communication problems spouses have regardless of their gender. You can easily switch the male and female characters in the driving, sick, battery and cooking ones. It just seems like a lot of gender stereotypes that I’d love to believe we’ve gotten away from.

The one that comes to mind is last year when I slipped on ice down our stairs and I came back up with the nastiest bruise on my butt. His comment - “You have to be careful!” My remark - “What, do you think I was running down the icy steps??” He wasn’t trying to imply that I wasn’t being careful, it just came out as concern and I totally overreacted with tears.

We always get into little arguments that end with “Oh, *that’s* what you meant? I’m sorry, I thought you meant ____!” A few nights ago we spent 20 minutes sparring about how he asked me to come make a salad for dinner and I took it to mean that I was a horrible wife because I don’t cook enough! Most of the mis-understandings are on my part :)

Oh yeah - this happens once in a while - the worst is misreading a text!
