After our first look, we took portraits together and separately. I’m gonna share the Dude’s first—he’s such a natural in front of the camera! (I’m not the only one who thinks so—recently he was spotted by a local actor/comedian who asked him to play Jesus in a fake commercial he was filming! I’ll share the video with you guys when it comes out if I get permission.)
Anyway, back to the Dude’s wedding portraits.
I’ve just got to say that I’m so happy the Dude didn’t cut his hair off or shave his beard for the wedding! At one point, we were discussing him doing this–I’m glad he decided to represent for all those shaggy boys out there.
Look at this GQ pose! Are you kidding me?
I like how he looks all sweet and contemplative here.
Close up of the bout and tie! The tie was a vintage find, and the boutonniere was made from pink wax flower and rosemary. The best part? It dried really well, so we kept it in a box with other various wedding doodads.
My personal favorite shot of this session. Love the warm, vintage tones—they go great with the Yves St. Laurent suit that my dad rocked back in 1979!

It’s good that he didn’t cut his hair… I’m sure you would have looked at those pictures and felt like it wasn’t really totally him that way! You can tell that his hair is just part of who he is.

suit = amazing, hair & beard = perfection! i would hate for someone to get rid of such a great beard for a wedding! glad he kept it all!

My dad had a huge beard the whole time he and my mom were dating, as well as when they got married. On their honeymoon he shaved it completely off and my mom was like “AHHH! I married a baby!!” - he looked so young without his beard! … all this to say, the Dude looks great with a beard and long hair, I’m glad he kept it

Love, love, love these! He is a natural and so handsome. We almost did waxflower for our bouts but our florist found chamomile, so we went with that! Looks great and must’ve smelled good.
The Dude’s hair is great. I totally see the Jesus thing, he kind of looks like how I picture Jesus in my head! I love the suit as well!
hooray for shaggy haired boys. I have one too and if he cuts his hair before the wedding, well, I guess there’s not much I can do about it, but I’d be pretty sad.
Dude…. Mr Pretzel is jealous of that suit… and the beard. Awesome portraits can’t wait to see yours!
I have to say, he should be a male model. Those pictures are just so expressive.
