Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer Engagement Date: March 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.

Quick and Easy Hotel Suite Sign

December 14th, 2009 @ 3:06 pm by Mrs. Cola

Yet another craft idea I stole from the web! This was featured on Project Wedding, and I pretty much copied the text from this version.

Quick and Easy Hotel Suite Sign : wedding decor diy Img 36205 It’s a sign to hang on our hotel suite door knob, which will serve to 1) let people know which room is ours for the after party and 2) double as a Do Not Disturb sign. It was really easy, and probably a frivolous, unnecessary project that I wouldn’t have bothered with if I didn’t have so much time left before the wedding. But that’s the beauty of planning early; I have time for fun and silly additions!

Here is a close shot of the front:

And the back:
Quick and Easy Hotel Suite Sign : wedding decor diy Img 36303 All the purple and green paper and the ribbon are leftovers from our STDs, so this project was basically free. The purple card stock is cut to 5.25 x 8.5, the green is cut to 4.55 x 7.8, and the white (a sample from LCI) is 4.25 x 7.5. Add a couple hole punches at the top, thread the ribbon through and tie, and you’re done!

Will you be doing any cute and fun, but unnecessary projects for your wedding?

And I will be using this now that you have shown them as well! Awesome! It may seem little, but it’s one of those details you will love later.

Very cute! It’s great that you had everything left over so it didn’t cost you a penny. We should probably have one of those for our hotel room…..now you got me thinking. I love little DIY projects :)
