The more I thought about it, the more I thought it wasn’t fair that I have this awesome sparkly thing on my finger that I get to show off wherever I go, and Mr. Nachos didn’t get anything of his own to show off (except for his shiny new fiance, of course).
Granted, that’s pretty much the norm, but I absolutely love staring at my hand whenever I can sneak a peek, and I’m sad Mr. Nachos doesn’t have bling of his own to brag about.
I’m not gonna lie, I get mesmerized when I’m in the car and the sun hits it just right splaying little teeny rainbows all over the dashboard.

I’ve asked Mr. Nachos if it’s possible to be in love with an inanimate object, and at this point, I’m positive it is. I decided I wanted to get Mr. Nachos something of his own to covet and show off cause it’s only fair and I love getting him stuff.
I asked him what he wanted and he quickly responded with a watch that would look nice with his wedding band. Simple enough – a tungsten man-gagement watch it was! I had him find one that he liked and within a half hour, he had his future watch up on the computer screen. I have to say, my favorite is the description on the website…“
A very handsome and high tech tungsten carbide watch for the discerning gentleman.”
Hee hee.

I proceeded to checkout and saw that I could have it engraved, so I quickly entered a ‘little’ message and hit confirm.
The next day, I got an email informing me that my ‘little message’ that I chose for the engraving was a bit too long. In my defense, it didn’t tell me there was a 12 letter maximum, so my original engraving of ‘To my love, forever and always’ wasn’t going to work. It took me a while to think of something else, but I constantly tell Mr. Nachos that he’s my favorite person in the whole world, so I simply went with ‘My favorite’.
The funny thing is that just this morning on his radio station’s morning show, they were talking about man-gagement rings. Someone called in and informed me (and all of Chicago that was listening) that apparently in Italy, it’s normal for the bride-to-be to give the groom-to-be an engagement gift, so I guess I wasn’t the first person to think of this.
The watch came in and it’s even better in person…

We didn’t know until it came in that it’s blingy! Those are little sparklies at each hour mark that we didn’t see in the pic from the website.

And the engraving is perfect – subtle but sweet. I was proud to give it to him and he loves it!
Man-gagement. It makes me giggle.
Did you get your FI anything for your engagement?
