About Mrs. Sunbeam

Since my bridesmaids’ dresses have been getting so many comments I thought it was due time I did a post on them! If you didn’t catch the background, I had chosen a range of red hues that I thought would be appropriate for their dresses and sent each one a note with the swatches, along with a few loose suggestions on style and length. From there the girls were let loose to find whatever suited them best! They had a few email chains going where they would share dresses they were considering with me and each other. In the end, everyone looked fabulous and happy! Here are all my lovelies together.

Hometown Love: The Lovely Bridesmaids : wedding pictures pro pics recap Rad0646

First up: this halter dress was purchased at an outlet mall and is by Betsy Johnson. Please excuse the awful way I’m holding my dress - no one warned me!

Sunbeam SIL’s dress was a traditional bridesmaid’s dress from Dessy and specifically is the ’After Six Bridesmaid Style 6524’.

My Lovely MOH actually saw this dress on an advertisement for Being Erica. She found it at Macy’s in the Junior section by Teeze Me and the style was X263615 . The best part was that it was $80!

And last, but certainly not least from all your comments (!), this bridesmaid got her dress from Lord & Taylor, and it is by Jessica McClintock.

So, there you have it! With little direction, they turned out looking great! The swatches really helped if you’re going to go in this direction for your bridesmaids and want them to be a certain color.

I’m confused with one of your first captions? I didn’t see anything wrong with the way you were holding your dress. Am I missing something?

@amariem25: It just looks all scrunched up to me and wrinkly across the waist - maybe just in my eyes. Had I know you could see it I wouldn’t have held it so haphazardly.

So great and I’m surprised at how well it came together. The swatch must’ve been the secret. I feel like my girls took so long to decide on their dresses that there’s no way this would’ve worked out. Or maybe it would’ve looked like this if their Sarah Seven dresses had worked?

LOVE your gal’s red dresses! I’m actually having a hard time finding a knee length red dress that I like (In a shade of red I like) and I think all three of my very different maids would like. Maybe I should just pick a swatch I like and tell them knee length, that red, and go!
I really liked how the different hues of red came together!

Y’know, I especially like that there are so many cute ruffles and pleats and flower details. So much awesomeness without being overwhelming. ^_^

Wow. Very cute dresses and still such a uniform look. This is an example of how awesome different dresses can look.

Where did you get the specific swatches for the color red that you wanted? And did you tell your bridesmaids it had to specifically be that color or that it could vary some? Thanks!
