I *love* Christmas china!

My favorite holiday memory was last year, where we made pop-culture gingerbread men, as well as one “portrait” gingerbread for each member of the family, as well as the cats and dogs! :)

My favorite Christmas memories are of the baking extravaganzas my sisters and I started doing a few years ago when we go home for Christmas. Leading up to Christmas Eve, we bake cookies, banana bread, make chocolate covered pretzels and trail mix. Then on Christmas Eve we spread it out on huge platters that we then deliver to the nursing units at the local hospital so that the people who work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have something to nosh on! It’s so fun to see their faces light up when we arrive at the nurses’ station with all the goodies.

My favorite Christmas memories was when we were younger and used to go to Midnight mass. When we returned home, Santa had already came, left tons of gifts and ate of piece of cookie! It was so magical.

Beautiful! My fave Xmas memory is from when I was in 5th grade and my dad came into my classroom to have all the kids make gingerbread houses. All the kids were super excited and I still remember how creative they all were!

I would love to have Christmas china! One of my favorite holiday memories is that we used to go to both Christmas Eve services, because the 5 o’clock was the children’s pageant that we performed in, and the midnight service featured the church choir that my parents sang in. In between, we hosted anyone who wanted somewhere to go between services, and my mom made lasagna.

Oh, I would love this china! It would get a ton of use, I plan on hosting lots and lots of holiday parties!

My favorite christmas memory is from Christmas of 1998- it’s when I met Mr. Rainbow. We were kids, and terrorized each other the whole time. It’s an amazing memory to have- not only of Christmas, but of our relationship, also. Christmas is a very special time for us.

My favorite Christmas memory is the year that my sister was born. My parents woke me up early on Christmas monring packed all of my presents from Santa in the car and drove an hour to my grandparents house where I got to open my presents while my mom and dad were at the hospital. Later that day, I had a baby sister!

My favorite memory is, as a child, how we would wait on Christmas morning, to be allowed to go downstairs and see what Santa had left beneath the tree! Oh, the anticipation was just insane….

we’re hindu from the west indies- so most people don’t think we celebrate christmas. wrong! my mom always stressed that we should always celebrate God when we could (every god, not just ours). My family is made up of just about every religion (muslim, hindu, catholic and christian)…and the west indies have some great traditions. especially food :)

my favourite memory of christmas was a big family reunion we had in vancouver. all my mom’s family came (she’s 1 of 8 siblings). we had over 35 people sleeping in one house (16 cousine!)…the christmas tree overflowed and took up half of the room.

when i still believed in santa claus, i woke up one Christmas morning pleasantly surprised to see that santa had left me a note: “ho, ho, ho, from santa claus”. i was over the moon.

never did it cross my mind to question that the wrapping paper was one that i knew my parents had used for “their” gifts to us, and that the note was written in what completely and totally imitated my father’s handwriting.

faith will do a lot to skew your perception.

We moved a lot when I was a kid - a new town nearly every year - so Christmas traditions were super important since the house was always different! My favorite holiday memory is curling up at the foot of my brother’s bed in a long flannel nightgown, while my mom or dad read The Night Before Christmas to us. We would be squirming in anticipation of the next morning! We would eventually fall asleep, and mom and dad would help Santa put all the gifts under the tree.

One of my more recent favorite memories was two years ago..it was the first Christmas my FI stayed in California with me, instead of going back home to Hawaii. It was so nice waking up Christmas morning knowing he was there in the same house instead of having to miss him over the phone.

My favorite Christmas memory is getting to spend my mom’s final Christmas with her. My college professors knew that my mom was sick, and they were super-flexible about letting me take my finals early, and I ended up taking off the entire month of December and spending it with her.

What a great giveaway!
Growing up Christmas wasn’t really a big thing; there wasn’t ever really extra money for it. And it was still primarily a “American” holiday to us. As I got older and understood the traditions and realized what a wonderful time the holiday season can be regardless of your religious affiliations. I longed for the family gatherings Christmas mornings with children around. Last year my niece and nephews were 5 and I think “truly” understood the wonder of Christmas morning for the first time! We opened presents Christmas Eve because they just couldn’t wait! The expressions of awe and eye opening and their voices going “Ooohhh” “WoW!” were truly the best gift of all.
I hope to have many more Christmas memories like that night with all our nieces and nephews and god-willing our own kids!

My sister had been begging for a cat since she learned how to talk. One year when we were in high school, my parents got her all cat-themed presents. She started to get suspicious. Then my dad said “oh, there’s one more present” and brought out a cat bed from the other room. This continued with a litter box and carrier crate. Then he said “Okay, there really is only ONE more present” and came out with a stuffed cat. In reality, my parents wanted my sister to pick out her own kitten, but she thought the whole thing had been an elaborate joke. She kicked a pile of presents and stormed to her room crying, as the rest of us cracked up. The best part? The whole thing is on video tape, and we watch it every year on Christmas Eve.

My favorite holiday memory is caroling with my family. Every Christmas Eve the entire extended family goes to my grandmother’s house, we eat a Christmas feast, open one present each, hop in the cars and carol around to all of my grandmother’s good friends. Although my famliy now lives a few states away we still carol every Christmas Eve, in honor of that lovely time.

I love Christmas plates! What a fantastic giveaway!

My favorite Christmast memory is the year I got my dollhouse. It was beautiful and made entirely out of wood. My dad spent hours and hours putting it together before Christmas just so I would be able to play with it right away. And after Christmas he brought me to a store to buy little furniture and things to put inside of it. He wanted me to enjoy every minute of it and it always reminds me of how my dad wants things just right for me and will do everything he can to make sure of it.
