I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.

Ornamental Wedding Inspiration

December 20th, 2009 @ 11:20 am by Mrs. Cola

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — wedding inspiration is everywhere! Take holiday ornaments for example. I found this lovely one online:

Ornamental Wedding Inspiration : wedding ornament series Ornamen Ornamen

(Source)

Wouldn’t this color scheme of yellow, purple and hints of green make for a beautiful early spring wedding? You could even tie in a gold-colored dress to go with the background of the picture. Along with the other bees, I’ve made an inspiration board based off this ornament. Ahhh, yet another wedding I want!

Edit: After seeing how cute Miss Rainbow’s ornament inspiration board turned out, based on her Rainbow icon, I just had to go back and make a Cola version (any excuse to make another inspiration board), especially after I found this awesome Coke branded ornament in one of my favorite new color combos: aqua, white and red.

Ornamental Wedding Inspiration : wedding ornament series Ornamen02 I think this is a color scheme that works well at just about any time of year, except maybe fall, so it’s super versatile, and, well, super cute!

Happy holidays!

@elisterine, I found the purple and yellow ornament on google images, but looking at the photo source link above, it appears to be from csnstores.com. Hope that helps!

I saw a cake on a magazine cover that would be perfect for a red and aqua wedding (I can’t find a picture now) but it was a three tiered cake lined with peppermint sticks.

I am obsessed with the red/aqua combo. Seriously considered switching over to it, but I’m too in love with yellow to give it up. I really like the first one you did too - that’s a great combo!
