Mrs. Nachos's Picture
Mrs. Nachos, Chicago/St. Thomas Age and Occupation: 33, Commercial Real Estate & Hairstylist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 36, Radio Producer Engagement Date: May 22, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort, St. Thomas About Me: I'm a happy, laid back city girl that can find the silver lining in any situation. An optimist at heart, my motto is to turn your "what ifs?" into "so whats!". My fiance is a radio producer and the biggest Cubs fan you'll meet - our apartment decor definitely shows it. He and I grew up next door to each other and because of it, we have the best home videos and easiest holiday dinners. We are planning an intimate wedding in the Virgin Islands and a cocktail party in June for 150 of our closest friends.
About Mrs. Nachos

I asked Mr. Nachos to take a peek at the things I registered for to make sure there wasn’t anything he didn’t like. He jumped on the computer, looked through it all, and thought it was great. Then, I told him to go through and add anything he wanted that I missed.

The Registry – Mr. Nachos Hops On Board : wedding registry Registry 001 speakers

(notice WB on the left computer, BBB on the middle, and ring shots as his background on the right)

And a monster was born. He pulled up things like this…

(source)

Ah yes, the Keg O Rator. And of course this…

The Registry – Mr. Nachos Hops On Board : wedding registry Cubs Bed cubs-bed

(source)

And not surprisingly, this…

He was on a roll and I have to tell you, some (OK, most) of his ideas were shot down. He did find quite a few things that I didn’t see that I liked, though (mostly since I had skipped over the “As Seen on TV” section) so we added the Moshi:

The video had me hooked! It’s an interactive voice controlled alarm clock. And these…

The Registry – Mr. Nachos Hops On Board : wedding registry Pet Mitts pet-mitts

… which will definitely be more handy than keeping a towel draped over our vacuum all winter for wet paws.

And one more that I really hope works, ’cause he added one for each of us…

I was online next to him the whole time sneaking the occasional peek at what he was finding (me on BBB, too)…

And in the end, I was happy he jumped on the registry train and added a few personal touches, and I now feel like it’s complete! I do have to mention that I also shot down the Barry White 3 CD collection. (Um, why do they have that at BBB??? I’m a fan, but come on, now.) He picked out things that were more on the practical side while I had chosen the decorative things. Now I feel like the registry is more ours and that makes me very happy.

What special touches did your FI add to your registry?

Haha! Awesome additions. Didn’t think to add a team lamp! I’m sure the FI would want a NFL one for his future man cave. =)
Thanks for sharing!

HA! We registered at BBB and target and I had to pull him out of the electronics section and explain that no, Guild Wars 2 is not an appropriate wedding gift to register for.

I agree that it helps to have approval/input. He picked the fine china and I picked the casual. So, he refers to the sets as “my dishes” and “your dishes.”

I don’t know why you shot down the Cubs’ comforter. Haha.

My husband was the woman in the relationship when it came to the registry. He stalked that thing every day and gave me updates when things came off it. LIKE A GIRL. Haha. I still tease him.

He picked our china. ;) I couldn’t decide, so I let him do it. I really like what he picked!

@iswimibikeirun: That just made me snort, for some reason. I love it.

We’re in the thick of registry-ing. He’s pretty helpful, but for both of us it’s like pulling teeth.

The wii is something he’s not willing to let go of. I had originally added it, then said I was going to remove it - that’s when he decided that he cared about what’s on the registy :-)

@Miss Pug: Um, I think the one that we have is more than enough!! Although a really big one in the kitchen could be a great conversation starter….

We started registering online just last night — I mostly picked all of the stuff, and he nodded in approval (there was a basketball game on that was pretty interesting, evidently).

The two dog drying mits are a good idea, I hate towels.

Ha! If my fiancé had his way, we would have registered for 1,000 cables for the TV, surround sound, computers, etc. He just wants gadgets :) He did register for a cool wine pump: Metrokane Imports V Gauge Vacuum Pump. I also know he really wants fancy Riedel wine glasses, and I won’t argue with that one :)

My BIL was the worst. They went to BB&B and they each got a scanner gun. He said he was going to ind some stuff for his home office and left her with the not-so-exciting stuff. Anyway, when she checked the registry a few days later online, she found that he had registered for $350 worth of the candy they keep near the front of the store.
