About Mrs. Sushi

The weather was unusual for Hawaii. While the winter months are usually cooler and rainy, it was extremely windy while we were there. And while the weather was still 20 times better than March in Central PA, it was still not swimsuit-wearing, beach-swimming weather. We were in Hawaii for a total of 11 days. It was our wedding and minimoon rolled all into one. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the things we did:

You already saw us hike Diamond Head; we also did a small hike on Maunawilli Falls Trail. There was lots of mud, (man made) stairs, and a cool refreshing waterfall.

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 11 11

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 22 22

We did this hike the day after our wedding. Remember when I said that I got eaten alive on our wedding day? I was not exaggerating! Do you need proof?!

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 2 2

Oh what?! You can’t see them? Here… let me point them out to you…

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 3 3

Seven. 7. Seven misquito bites, and that’s only on one arm. Forget my other arm or my back.

We went shopping at the Aloha Swap Meet (one of my favorite things to do when visiting Oahu)! We met my girlfriend there and, totally unplanned, we were wearing the same shirt. How middle school are we?!

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 4 4

We didn’t go swimming, but we still made it to the beach.

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 5 5

Mr. Sushi spit rhymes over beats made by street performers in Waikiki.

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 6 6

We par-tay-ed with our friends!

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 7 7

I have no idea what’s going on in these two bottom photos… but they crack me up every time I see them.

We went to the Dole Plantation, got a lil’ pineapple ice cream, took a train ride to tour the pineapple fields and ventured through the pineapple maze (for 2 hours!).

Our Honeymoon... Minimoons... I Mean, Many Moons Ago : wedding honeymoon 8 8

And our Hawaii minimoon didn’t end there! We then took off for the Big Island for a few days. More to come!

Fun! Too bad about those darn skeeters, though! Ouch :(

I’ve never seen a pineapple plant before…I guess I had no idea how they grew?! Fun!

i hiked maunawili falls right after a rainstorm in slippers and a dress. it was the worst hike ever! i think i also had a bug bite on my eyelid so that didn’t help. it is great to see your pictures though because we don’t get to visit this winter (what with planning our own wedding and all!)

Apparently I can’t count, because that’s actually 8 mosquito bites. LoL. Oh well.

@Mrs. Quiche: Yeah, who would have thought that pineapples grew above ground, off a plant.

@BirdofaFeather: Eyelid? Eeek! That sounds painful!

@carrie.a.s.b: Ha! I’ll have to tell Mr. Sushi you said that…you’ll probably make his day. :)
