It’s a good thing I know Photoshop well or else it would be embarrassing to admit I spent time on this. Now that I know which dresses all my friends have chosen as their bridesmaids’ dresses, I threw a sample photo of each into Photoshop and tried to match it to our color, then made a lineup! But before I show you that photo, I should probably introduce our bridesmaid dress designer…
Lula Kate! Here are a few fun photos from their website to give you an idea of their cute dresses.
(all photos from lulakate.com)
This is the dress line that had my ’perfect blue’! It’s a color called Malibu, and what I haven’t mentioned before is that actually only 4 of the 5 girls will be wearing the bright blue. Sister Guinea Pig (the maid of honor - have I mentioned that?) will be wearing a dress in our second color: pale yellow (a color called Corn at LulaKate)! She loves wearing yellow and I’m happy that she gets to stand out a little as sister/maid of honor in a different color! By the way, {begin Public Service Announcement} this is definitely a case of don’t-trust-the-color-on-your-monitor. The Malibu color in their online color chart looks nothing like it does in person. Always check out fabric swatches in person! {End PSA}
Once I knew that LulaKate had the perfect color and cute dresses, I told my friends to browse through the line and choose whatever dress they wanted, and we’d order it in knee length. LulaKate has 4 different skirt styles (straight, A-line, full, and party) that you can combine with any of the necklines, and you can add bands at the waists, sashes, multiple colors, you name it! And the full and party skirts have pockets (a big selling point)! As luck would have it for me, all my friends chose different dresses, so I’m really excited to see them all come together in the same color, but with each style matching the friend! Here’s the mockup I made, that I mentioned earlier:
(from L to R dress styles are: Ashley, Meredith, Maggie, Millie, and Pearl)
Keep in mind the colors are not exact because I just used Photoshop to mess with them until they were as close as I could get them! And the skirt styles are not necessarily the same ones each girl chose, but it’s a good enough approximation to make me very excited! I love the combination of v-neck/boatneck, one shoulder and strapless that we’ll have! I think these will look great at our outdoor ceremony, especially the combination of colors, and I can’t wait to see them in person, all lined up for real!
Did you do anything obsessive like make a mockup of your bridal party attire before the big day? Will you have more than one color in your bridal party outfits?
