Inspiration for My Bridal Party

January 5th, 2010 @ 1:08 pm by Mrs. Buttons

One of the hardest things I had to do with the wedding planning process was to pick a “theme” and to go with it. There are so many wonderful ideas out there in wedding-land, and picking just one was almost an impossible thought for me! So, I decided to make an inspiration board early on. Some of the keywords that I want to embody in our wedding are “whimsical, modern, lighthearted, late spring/early summer,” etc.

This one in particular is the original inspiration for myself and my bridal party (note: the dress pictured is NOT my wedding dress… I’m still trying to keep that somewhat of a secret at the moment).

Inspiration for My Bridal Party : wedding color scheme Inspira012 Bridesmaid dress (J.Crew), flower girl dress, hair flower, wedding dress, shoe (Nordstrom), necklace, garters, bouquet

Did you make an inspiration board at the beginning of your planning process? Did you stick to it?

No, but I wish I had! There are just too many good ideas out there! I cannot wait to see what you have picked!

Making an inspiration board really helped me to focus on my vision, but also helps me relay that to to others (bridal party, vendors, etc.). I made mine before most major decisions were made and it has helped keep me (somewhat) on track!

That is a great board! This is been the hardest party of wedding planning for me. So far I have made 2 boards that are somewhat similar, and think that the one I am dreaming up now will be the final product! Here’s hoping!

I really like that color combo, and the flower girl dress is adorable! And I like that wedding dress, even if it’s not yours ;)

I love that shade of green. We almost had a spring wedding and I would have definitely considered that shade. Everything seems so soft and pretty.

I made one, but I found that I didn’t really use it that much. Mostly because I would find 10,000 more pictures that I liked and couldn’t really include in my little board. BUT I love your colors!

Yes and no- I didn’t know how to make one…so I did it old school and cut out pictures out of magazines and words that I liked too. So when I went to vendors and showed this they get a feel for what I want. I’m glad I did it-it helped me stay focused- although I did tweak some things here and there…ha!

I L-O-V-E that flower girl dress! I would order it right this second if I knew it would fit her!

@Ms. Library: I hear you…it is so hard to decide!

@Miss Rainbow: I’m obsessed with the necklaces…I kind of want to buy them for myself!

@Miss Guinea Pig: @Miss French Fries: @Mrs. Mouse: That flower girl dress is my absolute favorite…but I am not a fan of the price! I can dream…

@Mrs. Swan: Thanks! Soft is what I’m going for! :)

@Miss Pug: I just pasted pics into powerpoint and then converted it to a jpg when I was finished. It was really a lot easier than I thought it would be!

I didn’t make one. Sadly, I didn’t find Weddingbee until a lot of my decisions had been made already, including color scheme and dresses.
