Just in Case…

January 5th, 2010 @ 2:36 pm by Mrs. Cheeseburger

… Burger ever forgets his name…

I’ve become obsessed with buying him things with his initials all over them.

I guess it started when we decided to get engraved cufflinks for the groomsmen, and I snuck in a pair for Burger in the order:

Then, while on my Surgical Oncology rotation, I noticed one of the well-dressed attending physicians had a monogrammed dress shirt.

I found some reasonably-priced options here, and ordered one for him.

And finally, while browsing the ‘net, I came across these amazing engraved belt buckles by Robert Talbott. At almost $500 a pop, I knew I couldn’t spend that much on a belt buckle that Burger might not even like.

I found much more reasonably-priced options here, ordered one, and it turned out great!

What’s Burger going to think of all of these monogrammed items? Honestly, I’m not sure. I hope he likes them, and that he is able to wear them on our wedding day with pride. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

What do you think - did I go a bit overboard here?

Hmm, I think it depends on the guy! I know Mr. Rainbow would never wear anything with his monogram on it, except maybe cufflinks. Other than that, he would think it’s girly. But, to each his own! Some men like more modern square toe shoes, some men like more traditional round toe shoes. Everyone has their owns tastes. I’m sure Burger will like them!

I think it’s adorable! I think he will like them because they come from you and from your love, so why not? Plus, he can wear them after! Double score!

That belt buckle is awesome! I’m pretty sure Mr. GP wouldn’t wear monogrammed stuff, but then again I don’t think I’ve ever asked :) I’m sure Burger will love all of it because you’re giving it to him!

I’m sure Burger will love the monogrammed things that you’ve purchased for him! :) I don’t know how Mr. FF would feel about it — I think he’d get a kick out of the cufflinks and dress shirts, since he wears suit-and-tie everyday. :)

I think it depends on the guy. Mine would only wear the cuff links. But then again, his wardrobe consists of articles of clothing in gray, black, blue and dark green. He isn’t the most adventurous. I, however, think they are awesome! I’m sure Mr. Burger will love them. :)

i think so long as he doesn’t wear all three at once it’ll be fine! that’s a good amount of monogram items…i wouldn’t get any more. :-)

I have a feeling if I got Mr. N monogrammed cufflinks, he’d like them but wouldn’t wear them before his Cubs engraved cufflinks!

I was never too into monograms, b/c I’m not a fan of my complicated hyphenated last name. However, now that I am getting married and changing my last name, I am ALL OVER the monogram. So here’s to all things monogrammed (I personally am coveting a really nice monogrammed tote bag).

I think they’re great and I think Burger will love them! Especially in the medical field, I think it will come in handy! I love the belt buckle, too!

I thought about buying my FH baseball/Atlanta Braves cuff links and after seeing the prices, quickly changed my mind. He works as an electrician…and does not dress up very often. If he was in a profession that required him to dress up and I knew he’d wear them at least more than once, I would have bought the belt/shirt. He received a monogrammed flask and he got a lot of use out of that through college. He rarely wears his wedding band.

I got the Atlanta Braves garter set. That was one of the first things I bought after getting engaged. He really liked it, but it’s packed in our box of wedding goodies in a zip lock bag.
