About Mrs. Pug

On the Bright Side

January 6th, 2010 @ 3:33 pm by Mrs. Pug

Last time, I oh so maturely b*%tched and moaned about having a ceremony. But on the upside of having a ceremony, this is what I found:

  1. It gives better purpose/focus to the wedding for our guests. I suppose this is obvious to most people except me.
  2. In my imagining/dreaming/planning of every wedding aspect until now, none of them has made me tear up the way thinking about our ceremony does.
  3. It’ll give my parents a chance to walk down the aisle, which I think will be nice for them.
  4. I will get to have a moment, albeit a short one, where I walk down the aisle and people are looking at me in my EXPENSIVE get-up.
  5. I’ll get pictures like this!!!

(OK, maybe not quite like this, but doesn’t it look grand?)

On the Bright Side : wedding ceremony 228 228

from awesome hostess August15bride!

Maybe not exactly like those, as our ceremony will take place in a much plainer hotel space, but still, it’s a moment of focus that’s nice to capture.

What about the ceremony are you most looking forward to?

thinking about all those people watching makes me nervous, actually! I think the best part will be finishing our vows, smooching, and walking out with extra bling on our fingers!

Those pictures are gorgeous! I’m looking forward to our chuppah - it’s going to have a (plexi)glass top and be covered in floating candles!!!!!!! I think it’ll make for the most amazing pictures

I am looking forward to seeing him for the first time, hearing the cello play, and being able to read my vows to him. It’s one of my favorite parts to plan, so I cannot wait!

I’m looking forward to hearing his vows, since we’re writing our own and not sharing them until the wedding… I’m also looking forward to the kiss!

I’m looking forward to seeing his face, the first time he sees me, as I come down the aisle. Does that sound vain…? But you know what I mean right? That’s always my fave. part. You can tell a lot from the grooms face the first time he sees his bride coming toward him. I get excited just thinking about it :)

I’m looking forward to having the ‘purpose’ to the day like you said, but it creeps me out a little that all our friends and family will be listening in on the vows we’re writing to each other. I almost feel like I should whisper them! But then again, I guess that’s what the ceremony is all about - a public declaration of love and support! :D

The part I’m most looking forward to is getting to the end of the aisle without tripping. Just kidding! Kinda.

It’s adorable how you’re getting on the bandwagon!!! Your wedding should absolutely, positively be special - your age means nothing when it comes to that. You’re not old, and you don’t come close to even looking your age, so you, my dear, are GOLDEN!

I was most looking forward to the “I now pronounce you as husband and wife” part and it was pretty awesome :)

I think I most looked forward to walking down the aisle to meet The Hubs. It was actually an awesome moment. All I remember was that I was walking too fast (really excited, I guess) and I had to tell my brother to help me slow down as we walked.

our ceremony is taking place in an historic courtroom and the walls actually go with our colors. After deciding not to have a church ceremony, I’m super excited to have doors that will close after the bridal party walks down the aisle and then reopen for me and my fiance to lock eyes before i walk down the aisle.

The ceremony will be beautiful. And just think, you give your proud parents a chance to escort you/show you off!
