Sorry my recaps are taking so long. I asked a friend to help me splice and encode some video footage to accompany my posts but it is taking longer than expected, so I’ve decided to go ahead without them. Now, where did we leave off…?
I wonder if weddings ever go exactly as the bride imagined (I would say bride and groom, but let’s be realistic). I always thought I was a pretty ’laxed bride. I think I pretty much went with the flow for most things when it came to the wedding. That said, I gave my bridal party free reign over their entrance at the reception and this is what they came up with…
Never did I image that “Highway to the Danger Zone” would be the song that started off our reception or that my groomsmen would be introduced with code names…
The theme was an homage to the bachelor party they threw Mr. Lovebird. Mind you, they came up with everything themselves—the music, dance moves, and the coordination of the attire. I’m honestly surprised they all managed to bring the Top Gun shirts to Cancun considering two of them didn’t even have the proper outfits for the actual wedding!
First up, BM Bertina gets accosted “A Night at the Roxbury” style by GM Henry and GM Jon.

BM Michelle and GM Young did a sweet little dance number.
BM Elaine and GM George broke out in some wicked choreographed moves including the robot and the two-person arm wave.
GM Oliver decided to give BM Denise a spin in the danger zone in his Aviators.
And last, but not least, MOH Tina and BM Ernest top it off with some cabbage-patching and heel tapping.
Now, what did Top Gun have to do with our wedding, you ask? Absolutely nothing, but somehow it became a pseudo theme for our wedding and it was totally beyond my control. Funny how things work out, huh?
How are you planning on having the bridal party introduced at the wedding? Are you going to give them any guidance or leave it totally up to them? For those who are already married, how were they introduced?
