About Mrs. Cheeseburger

After reading this article on The Knot, this excerpt in particular caught my eye:

One of the simplest, yet probably most useful, things you could do for your guests is to provide a wedding itinerary. After sending out your invitations, mail guests an additional clever, elegant, or interesting communique with a complete rundown of the events leading up to and following your walk down the aisle. In addition, create a wedding web page for an easily referenced one-stop-shop for guests to check up on everything you have planned. In both cases, include key times, locations, who is hosting, what to wear, and so on for each activity. Tell your visitors about any free time they’ll have, and provide suggestions for how to fill it. There may be events you have in mind (such as a brunch the morning after the wedding) that travelers should know about in advance so they can schedule their trips around them.

You may remember that I had already planned to include weekend timelines in our Out of Town Boxes, but the article prompted me to take that idea a bit further.

I took the same information from the OOT Box timeline, made a few design changes (in PowerPoint, of course) and transferred it to a postcard.

We’re going to get these printed by Vistaprint and send them out after we get our RSVPs back.

I think they’re adorable, and even though Cheeseburger Mom thinks people will forget them at home (probably true), I can’t pass up sending them out!

What do you think - necessary or not?

I love these! I clicked on it to get a bigger picture and I love that you are including them in your three day weekend! These are great. Im thinking this would be great for us maybe to email some ppl since I dont feel like getting into something like this right now! But these are awesome…everyone will love and appreciate them.

These are so freakin’ cute! I don’t think we’ll have a welcoming party since more than likely we’ll end up with a Friday night wedding so people would come straight from work, but we’ll do other stuff that weekend!

i think they are adorable, people can always use extra reminders/reinforcement, and from what i’ve heard, vistaprint is not that expensive, so go for it! even if they forget it, at least they have another copy in the OOT bag. like you, i’m sending out a schedule of events with the invitations, and am also going to place them in the OOT bags.

I love it! We’re including a timeline in our invites, it ranges from the day we each left on vacation & met, to meeting the families, the day we stopped being in a LDR, the day we got engaged, to a breakdown of what will happen when on the big day.

The one for the after wedding bar party is missing a parentheses. (Because you have one for the smiley face and never closed off the original parentheses.
