I’ve already mentioned how cold it’s likely to be on our wedding day. Sure, it might be nice, but the chances are pretty high that it won’t be. You all know about my ideas for cold or rainy weather prophylaxis, and you gave some great feedback on the coats, especially!

I finally pulled the trigger and purchased this coat. It’s too adorable, and I’ve had trouble waiting to wear it ’til after the wedding. Here, check it out:

Gorgeous! And that flower - amazing! I had to have it. So, I put on my thinking cap and started wondering if I could up the bridal factor of my coat, if only temporarily for the day.

After a quick stop at Jo-Ann’s, two pieces of ivory felt and some pearl beads later, I had this:

A super easy DIY felt flower that (pretty much) matches my coat!

Here’s a shot of the flower on the coat collar. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet, since the coat already has a lot going on in the way of ruffles and buttons. In general, I still love the idea, and every time I look at the modern bride picture, I die a little out of happiness.

If you gals aren’t feeling the flower, I could always class things up with my brooch from White Aisle (originally purchased to adorn Audrey, since benched).

Also, is anyone interested in another fabric flower tutorial? I know there have been a bunch so far: Poodle’s, Moonbeam’s, Pretzel’s, and Doxie’s just to name a few, but if you want it, you’ve got it!
