An optimist at heart, my motto is to turn your "what ifs?" into "so whats!". My fiance is a radio producer and the biggest Cubs fan you'll meet - our apartment decor definitely shows it. He and I grew up next door to each other and because of it, we have the best home videos and easiest holiday dinners. We are planning an intimate wedding in the Virgin Islands and a cocktail party in June for 150 of our closest friends.
About Mrs. Nachos

So, do you remember the flip flops that I ended up buying because my original heels were to high for my dress?

Here’s a little refresher…

Don’t Be Afraid to Bedazzle Yourself – The Flip Flops : wedding crafts diy shoes 11 1

Well hive, I had a thought. As you all should be well aware of by now, I love all things sparkly.

And while these have a little bling on them, it’s not quite enough for my tastes. So this morning I pulled out the shoes and all of my jewelry making supplies to see if there was anything in there I could decorate my flippy floppies with.

I do have some crystals I could add, but they’re a little small. Upon looking closer at the rhinestones already on there, apparently they are simply sewn on with clear fishing wire. I can do that! I want to add a decent amount of embellishment, but I still want to be able to wear them with shorts or a skirt while we’re prancing around St. Thomas.

So I come to you all for ideas. Pretty much anything I add can be done with fishing wire, so I can easily take it all off with a quick snip of the scissors if necessary.

Should I go nuts with silver rhinestones like I envision? Or do I add some white flowers? Or a little bit of color? I think I need some ideas and another trip to Michaels.

Lots of rhinestones would be awesome! Or you could use little swarovski crystal beads or something for extra glam..but that could get expensive..

Sparkles! I vote rhinestones over flowers (which is saying a lot coming from the flower theme girl over here) :)

maybe get like, a detachable flower for the actual wedding? In addition to more sparkles! and then just use a flower for the middle of the thong part, which can be removed for every day use.

I vote sparkles - I think flowers would be likely to get crushed and dirty!
