I’m in Love with a Garter…

January 11th, 2010 @ 2:01 pm by Mrs. Scissors

Make sure you sing the title of this post in your head to the tune of, well, this song. It’s a classy day ’round here, folks.

I'm in Love with a Garter... : wedding accessories Mrsgoaw mrsgoaw

E’erybody else please continue reading! Delightful garter-ness is coming up… you don’t want to miss these beauties!

So, I really really really really [...] really hate garters for the most part. I hate the shiny polyester, the creepy ribbon, the excessive cuteness. They just skeeve me out. That is really unfortunate, because I L-O-V-E the idea of us doing a garter toss.

But, today I stumbled upon these beautiful, beautiful garters by Etsy seller Florrie Mitton. I swoon.

I'm in Love with a Garter... : wedding accessories Garters garters

They’re perfect. That dotted tulle? To die for. The detailing? Amazing. That horseshoe? Bananas. As far as garters go, I’m sold on Ms. Mitton. I’m going to convo her to see if she can make me a custom set with, well, the stuff I exactly want on it, (Dotted tulle *cough*), as well as a matching throwing-garter.

Anybody else totally grossed out by the run-of-the-mill garters and go on an epic search for fab ones? Did you consider yanking the tradition all-together if you didn’t find one that didn’t make you barf? I sure did!

Uhm, I’m not on my home computer and can’t access that video from where I’m sitting, but I already know what song you’re talking about. Rock.

And…these are gorgeous. They make me reconsider getting a garter — maybe I’ll get one just for me? Oh, ok…Mr. FF can be in on it too.

I wasn’t going to get a garter, but FH insisted. So, I began my search for something that didn’t make me want to vom. I settled on one that’s made of platinum colored satin with a silver jewel. No lace in sight to make me itch near my lady parts (itchy bride = not sexy).

We totally nixed the garter toss…partly because of pukey-tacky garters. Had I known about these, I might have reconsidered, but I’m still not a fan of skanky music while my FI digs under my dress…

These are ridiculously pretty. I’ve been so anti-garter, but I think you just changed my mind.

Love, love the dotted tulle. My favorite garter ever is the flask holder one that Mrs. Cherry Pie sported.

These are just so pretty though and I kind of feel like I need one.

@Miss Pretzel: THEY MAKE ME DO THAT TOO!
@Miss Pencils: If I am, so are you!
@Mrs. Dee to Bee: You can class it up!
@diorable: These garters are pretty persuasive, they are.
@tea: It’s totally stuck in my head now!
@Candy_Nee: Maybe hang a Charger’s charm on it? You could just pretend! :p
@Arachna: Some might be DIY-able. Perhaps?
@Miss Cheeseburger: Dotted tulle just makes me die. In a good way, that is.
@Miss Sewing: I love them all, which is bad! lol
