OK, so perhaps this isn’t icing… but it does involve cake!
As much as I love the traditional little figurines that adorn the top of the wedding cake, I was looking for something a little different…
My obsession? Cute and adorable bird cake toppers! I scoured Etsy for some options… and I couldn’t decide!!! Here are some of my original inspirations…

Are you partial to any of these toppers in particular? What do you think about nontraditional cake toppers? Have you seen any cute ideas at weddings, or have you had a great one of your own?
I love the last one! But what does your cake look like? Mine is really complicated design-wise, so the last topper would be too much on the top. 
Those are all great, though! Can’t wait to see what you’ve picked.
Miss Buttons- I am also obsessed with bird cake toppers! I’m actually going with the last one. I think they are so cute!
Hmm, I think the 1st one is my favorite! I love bird cake toppers too!
I love the blue one with the lace! I am doing a bird wedding cake topper too, but mine is made out of porcelain.

I love the last one, so cute! My mom is folding us 1,001 paper cranes for our wedding, which we’ll have all over the reception as decoration, so our cake topper will be two paper cranes. Still birds, but a different kind.
They’re all so cute and whimsical! I like the fourth one the best!
i love the variety of styles! emiliefriday and redlightstudio are my faves. now that i’ve said that, i bet those are your least favorite.
I love the one by emiliefriday — it’s a little different, plus how can you go wrong with smooching birdies? 
I luuuurve bird cake toppers. Unfortunately, my FI doesn’t. The last photo is definitely my fav!
I love the last ones and the owls they do as well! We bought a cake topper that is similar to the “Circle of love” cake toppers. I didnt like the cake toppers with faces and colored hair because none of them looked like us so I wanted something with no face and no hair and these are all white porcelain.
PS…some of these are a little more weird than they are cute! LOL!
MMmmmmmmm!!! I love the emilie friday and redlightstudio ones. they are adorable. in the end, red light studio takes the cake (ha) for me because it’s whimsical yet modern.
I love the last one! That’s so freaking cute.. it’s a little American Gothic, alot adorable!
The little birdie toppers are SO CUTE. I had wanted to get one, but I had to remind myself that I actually hate birds. 
The last one will actually be my wedding cake topper! Im so so excited!! I think they are just so adorable!
