Well I Guess that Answers the Question

Who watches Say Yes to the Dress on TLC?

Well I Guess that Answers the Question : wedding wedding dress Asiangi AsianGi

Source

(funny enough, I found this image by typing in “Asian girl raising hand”)

If I had 50 hands, I’d raise them all. But let’s back up a second.

You know that whole thing about not letting the groom see you in the dress before the wedding?

When I first started wedding planning, I decided this was a silly rule and that I would let Mr. Pug see the dress. Maybe I wouldn’t shove it in his face and try it on for him, but I wouldn’t make any effort to hide it, either.

Then as time passed, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if it were a big surprise? Wouldn’t it be kinda cool to see the expression on his face as he saw me for the first time in full regalia, with admiration, love and amazement in his eyes? I would just DAZZLE the bejeebs outta him.’

But then again, meh. I don’t know. I was on the fence.

Then one day, Mr. Pug and I were sitting on the couch and Say Yes to the Dress was on (I was watching, he was surfing the internet). And this bride was wearing a dress that looked *awfully* like mine, and I said to Mr. Pug, “Huh, I think that’s my dress,” and Mr. Pug looked up from his computer. The camera switched to another bride, and I watched impatiently to see when they would cruise back to “my” dress. Then they flashed the screen showing the dress and the designer. We have a winner! It was my dress.

Well I Guess that Answers the Question : wedding wedding dress Marisa Trumpet 775 Off White 2008 47961 Marisa-Trumpet-775-off-white--2008-47961

Source (this is not me–the bust area is a big giveaway. I promise to have pics of me in my dress when I go in for my fitting.)

Mr. Pug went back to surfing the internet.

Well, gee whiz–thanks TLC! I guess you answered my question!

I wasn’t upset, but more stunned that *someone else* was wearing *my* dress on TV. How dare she. Later that day, I asked Mr. Pug if he was upset about seeing my dress. He sighed, rolled his eyes, and said “Miss Pug, I don’t even remember what the dress looks like.” Keeper.

And you know, I don’t think Mr. Pug will even remember what my dress looks like after he sees me in it at the wedding. It’s just not on his radar. And that’s okay with me–I know he’s going to think of me as a beautiful bride and that’s what matters. Furthermore, let’s be honest, I got the dress for ME! Mememememememe. Not for him.

Did you let your future hubby see the dress before the wedding? Why or why not?

because he is 3000 miles away, and I won’t see him until the day before the wedding.. :) Kinda makes it impossible. :P

HE doesn’t want to see it. I want to show him. And since I know he doesn’t want to see it, it makes me want to show him what it looks like even more!

But, I forgot to add. When I was house/babysitting for three little girls, we all would sit down and watch Say Yes to the Dress. They (and I) loved it! I don’t have cable at home…

I don’t watch that show because it makes me nervous. :p

Mr. Scissors hasn’t seen me in it, and won’t. He wants to keep it a secret too. I’ve been trying super hard to hide it!

Eh, I’m on the fence. I really really want to show Mr Moo because I know he knows I love to get all dressed up. But he really doesn’t want to see it before the wedding. But then we’re not being very traditional about anything else so I kind of want to give him this one. So he hasn’t seen it yet. But he knows it’s in the house. And he knows he just has to ask to see it and I’ll show him.

LMAO at memememememe! I don’t think remembering details of a wedding dress is something most guys can do. It is more the overall effect that will be a lasting image in their head for years to come.

Oh and I love that show! Never did watch it though until AFTER I bought my dress at Kleinfelds. Randy called me “fab” in my dress, said I had the perfect figure for it (What a true sales guy!)

I’m glad you wiped his memory so he wouldn’t be upset about seeing it beforehand! :D

I wanted my fiance’s input on dresses, so I showed him all the ones I was thinking of. He hasn’t seen THE dress, but only because it just came in yesterday. You can bet that I’ll be putting it on and parading around the house in front of him as soon as it’s home!

My family is very traditional about the groom not seeing the dress before the wedding. I keep telling Mr. Library lies about what my dress looks like. He thinks it has a collar, sleeves (we’re getting married in July… yeah right), and bows. Oh, and tons of rhinestones! Hah!

You could probably wear your dress to bed every night and it would still be a revelation and surprise to Mr Pug on your wedding day.

@hisbunny: i guess the distance answers the question for you two! and thanks for the compliment about the dress!
@Goldilocks1107: haha, it’s a battle of wills! we’ll see who wins out.
@Miss Scissors: i think that makes the whole dress “reveal” pretty exciting!
@Ms. Library: i love it! i tried lying to him but he didn’t fall for it.
@littlemissmoo: i was in the same boat (except that mr. pug really didn’t care either way)
@mander411: @Miss Sewing: yeah, i don’t think he even remembers that he did see my dress on tv.
@3pugmama: thanks for your encouragement, sis.

i don’t care either way. if he wants to see it, i’ll show him cuz dresses always look different hanging on the hanger versus on the body

Haha. I didn’t let the Dude see my dress before the wedding, but if I had, I can guarantee you he wouldn’t have remembered what it looked like either.

Haha - Mr. GP has said repeatedly that because he knows nothing about fashion, I could describe my dress in great detail and he still would have no idea. My sister and I refer to it as my ‘red and gold’ dress :) Our code for lace! I don’t really want him to see it before the day of, but I’m trying to get him to agree to a first look!

LOL- oh man that was a great blog- I am cracking up at the picture of the girl raising her hand to the mememememememe- I needed that laugh. Anywho back to the matter at hand- my hubby to be has not seen my dress. I am HORRIBLE at keeping secrets and I want to show him but we both said at the beginning he wouldn’t see the dress until the day of the wedding…which is quickly approaching. YAY!

I didn’t show Mr. Q my dress :) However, I did talk about it…so he knew the color, kinda the style, etc. No worries!

Seriously, Pug — just replay this entire scene, in our house, with me and Mr. FF!

My dress was also on SYTTD, and I too said to Mr. FF “Hey, I think that’s my dress!” I was, of course, amazed to see it on someone else/on national TV like that, but he barely looked and then just went back to his Fantasy Football. I, of course, have the episode saved to my DVR.

When I asked him if he remembered what it looked like later, he said “they all sort of look the same to me.”

So, Mr. Pug and Mr. FF = groom peas in a pod.

I watch SYTTD and I find some budgets to be absolutely mind-boggling. In my life, my fiance is fairly metrosexual and would remember what the dress looked like, so no advance sightings for him. However, I did show him a similar dress that I didn’t end up getting, and he seemed to like the overall style.
