I'm planning a half-destination wedding on the beautiful island of Oahu - imagine a plethora of movies, art and games; savory Hawaiian food; blended Chinese and Japanese cultural details; lush, fragrant tropical flowers and all the air conditioning a NorCal native could want! And once I marry the love of my life, we'll come back to the 'mainland' to party it up all over again in my hometown of Salinas, the salad-bowl capital of the world!

Yudu? Yes!

January 19th, 2010 @ 10:49 am by Mrs. Sewing

Remember how I planned on screen printing our wedding favors? Well now we’ve got the tool to make it happen!

Yudu? Yes! : wedding crafts diy Yudu1 yudu1

We bought the YUDU!

One fateful night at the craft store, I saw there was only one unit left, sitting like a tempting siren in the middle of the display stand. I somehow managed to convince Mr. Sewing that it was an investment toward all future projects (and not just one wedding idea), and the next thing you know, I had purchased the big blue box from Michaels for $250. (We received a $50 gift card for the store later as a small consolation prize/rebate.)

And now we’ll be able to proudly sport the free messenger bag that we got earlier this year from the Maker Faire! Yay for marketing!

Did you have any big-ticket, somewhat-impulse buys? Or are you being good, and sticking to a strict budget?

We seem to be doing really well about staying on track with spending… but there is still tons of time to spare. :)

Wow! I’m so exited to hear all about the Yudu! We’re gonna rely on the handy old Gocco for a number of our projects, but I too have been thinking about “investing” in a Yudu in terms of supply longevity! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Ooh, I’m excited to see how you like it and see the projects you make with this (as opposed to the ever-present Gocco)!

I have been thinking about purchasing a Yudu as well. But so far, not having a big enough project to justify the purchase, I have resisted. I am looking forward to reading about your experiences with this intriguing craft machine! Good luck!!

Nothing yet, but I get the feeling we may be shelling out for some fancy do-dads to hang from the ceiling.
