Mrs. Nachos's Picture
Mrs. Nachos, Chicago/St. Thomas Age and Occupation: 33, Commercial Real Estate & Hairstylist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 36, Radio Producer Engagement Date: May 22, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort, St. Thomas About Me: I'm a happy, laid back city girl that can find the silver lining in any situation. An optimist at heart, my motto is to turn your "what ifs?" into "so whats!". My fiance is a radio producer and the biggest Cubs fan you'll meet - our apartment decor definitely shows it. He and I grew up next door to each other and because of it, we have the best home videos and easiest holiday dinners. We are planning an intimate wedding in the Virgin Islands and a cocktail party in June for 150 of our closest friends.
About Mrs. Nachos

So now that I had the beads and the votives, I needed to find me some vases. I put together a spreadsheet and figured out how many of each piece we’d need for each table. We decided to only put them on the tables in the main dining room, so there would be none for the booths or the patio, which put us at 15 tables. I then went online and looked for inexpensive vases and I came across these…

At $3.95 for the largest (10″), I was sold. These were only available at the CB Outlet stores, which I had never even heard of before. I looked up the closest one to me and there was one right around the corner from where Mr. Nachos proposed! :) I called them up with the SKU numbers and they had 215 of the 10″ vases in stock! We hit the road and found the store, and let me tell you, if you’ve never been to a C&B Outlet, you are missing out, my friends! They have so much stuff that is surprisingly inexpensive! We found the vases right away and loaded up the cart with 15 of them. Then I noticed votive holders right next to the vases and grabbed a bunch more so that with Mr. Nachos’s mom’s stash, we’d end up with 4 votives per table.

We had a little fun perusing the aisles – we have a long running joke that Mr. Nachos made up the work ramekin (haha, don’t ask) so when he saw a sign for ramekins, I told him C&B stole his term. Notice the smug look on his face…

Playtime came to an end and we brought our goodies home, and now our centerpiece supplies are slowly taking over our kitchen. I’m so happy with everything we have so far… just one more piece of the puzzle to find, and these will be finished!

Did you take on any DIY projects that you slowly pieced together without initially knowing what the end result would look like?

@Miss Pug: Dainty? That’s it Miss Pug, you just made me register for in my own defense! (Kidding!) The tiny saucers made me laugh out loud in the store, and I couldn’t resist!
