Confessions of a Short-Dress Bride.

January 22nd, 2010 @ 11:30 am by Ms. Stripes

So, I already bought a dress.

So, the wedding is still 8 months away.

So, the wedding is ONLY 8 months away.

(OMG I’m really on my way to being a married lady!)

Anyway, I digress.

So you think I’m gonna change my mind, right? Here’s the dress I already bought.  It rocks.

My sister thinks I should design/make my dress, and I have to admit, a part of me agrees.

It’s currently doing battle with the lazy part of me that says,”Waaaaa?? Another project??”

Anyway, I think I’m on my way to being a two-dress bride.

What about you? Does your love for wedding dresses mean you’ll be wearing more than one dress on your wedding day?

My love of dresses would totally be up for two dresses, but sadly my teacher salary is not. Womp womp. I absolutely adore your dress inspiration though!

I love your dress. Are you wearing the black belt with it? Ok so now I curious what F stripes is wearing. Are you keeping it a secret from each other or coordinating? Any of the above dress would look great together! Or does she have a different taste in dresses/ non-dresses? Sorry for all the questions.

So your last one looks almost EXACTLY like my dress from davids bridal! You should check it out!! Its one of their new 2010 dresses. Its not as low cut but the same exact design otherwise :)

Gah, I love your dress. And every dress in this post. And the last dress makes me swoon. You should totally make one — I would have if I had any talent as a seamstress!

I LOVE dress 1 and 2, and I must say, I have been hardcore swooning over #1 for months now. I love that damn dress so much, now if only I could justify buying it for myself…

I love all of the dresses you posted. They are exactly the same style of dresses I would have chosen. Very modern and chic. Love’m.

If you have any thoughts about selling your wedding gowns, I would be highly interested in purchasing them. I am actually looking for one short and one long dress. I will wear the long dress for our at home wedding and a short dress for our destination vowel renewal.

I looove your dress, and all the Amsale ones. BTW - the last dress is up on pre-owned wedding dresses all the time. It got very popular when it was featured in 27 dresses.

Love your choices! There were definitely days when I would see a dress that I loved the idea of and think… hmmm… i could change for the reception and wear both! But the money for the second dress and the hassle to change, and oh year - I loved my dress and wanted to wear it as much as possible…. so notsomuch for 2 dresses for me.

I actually like the dress you already have the best. If I was going short I would wear it in a heartbeat. Great choice! :)

Your dress is perfect!
I personally only had one, although I would never begrudge any fashionista who wanted to maximize the day by wearing two.
And yet… I’d really suggest choosing one that’s completely different if you buy two…. i.e. go for a long one and a short one. That way you have two totally different looks.
(I also must say that the one with the bow is such an ’80s throwback to the sackdress. I bet it’ll look more dated than the others, which are much more timeless.)
I’m sure whatever you decide, you’ll be beautiful.

I actually wore your dress as my post-ceremony dress and I had so much fun in it! I did the two dress thing and went fancy for the ceremony dress; I actually took the sash from the wedding dress and wore it with this dress. Anyway, I love it, although I also love those Sara Seven dresses! Great taste.

I think I could have been a 12 dress bride if my budget had allowed it! Long for the ceremony, fun and short for the reception?
