Mrs. Poodle's Picture
Mrs. Poodle, Santiago, Chile/San Bernardino, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Industrial & Web Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Firefighter & Mountain Patrol Engagement Date: February 25, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.

E- Pics: Making It Work

January 22nd, 2010 @ 3:31 pm by Mrs. Poodle

Remember how I actually made another dress for our e-session? I teased with the fabric here, and I showed off the dress here. This is what it looks like:

Well, after realizing that my wedding dress didn’t fit, I ran to try this dress on, and well, it was just as uncomfortable as my wedding dress. E- Pics: Making It Work : wedding accessories diy dress Sad09 sad09

What a bummer!!! So I had to come up with a plan B, because our e-session was going to be that week!!! My MOH and I researched for something similar for a good price but had no luck. So we went to Forever 21 and found this cutie:

We had the chance to go to Vegas with a bunch of friends and on our way there, Mr. Poodle and I did some massive shopping at the malls on the way there. We got a shirt, suspenders, my belt, and supplies for the headband I wanted to make. The best part was that everything was 50% off! YAY!

So, pretty much at the last minute we ended up with this look!

I added some black plain heels and a headband to complete the look

I wanted to have an excuse to make this kind of headband for a very long time! It was so much fun! I did my nails bright RED and found some cute red pearls that I made into a necklace.

So we were ready! BUT the storm came and we thought we were going to have to reschedule our e-session again. We had already rescheduled once because I got a cold sore on my lip! Not cute!

We asked our photographers if they knew of a place we could shoot indoors, and they suggested Union Station in downtown LA. We loved the idea, after all, our relationship has been based on traveling back and forth ever since we met, so it would be a perfect place to shoot!

We borrowed some vintage looking luggage from my MIL and headed down to LA. smile046 The shoot was SO MUCH FUN!! We had lots of people staring at us, but it was OK—after all, you don’t see people dressed like that being chased by photographers all the time!

We are so excited about how everything seemed to work out perfectly in the end, at the last minute.

Did weather threaten your engagement shoot? Did you shoot through inclement weather, or postpone the shoot for a sunny day?

I love that you laid out your clothes on the floor to see how they’d look together –I totally do that on my bed in the morning when I’m getting dressed! :)

It’d been raining all day before my afternoon engagement shoot. I figured we’d just get some fun ‘umbrella shots’ and call it good. However, the rain broke and we ended up with some fantastic lighting.

i snuck a peek at your epics (they floated around on twitter) and they turned out AMAZING despite the unintentional outfit change! You both pulled off vintage so well!

SO adorable! I love the headband. We are going for the retro look in our e-pics so I can’t wait to plan my outfit. Maybe a cute lil flower like that in my hair would work. Thanks for the idea!
