Mrs. Lamb, Norfolk Age and Occupation: 25, Homeland Security Consultant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graduate Student Engagement Date: January 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Trinity Presbyterian Church/Harrison Opera House About Me: I’m a Homeland Security Consultant with a tendency towards pulling office pranks, taking lunch breaks, and drinking Wawa shakes. I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!

Toasty Tootsies

January 25th, 2010 @ 5:15 pm by Mrs. Lamb

Lamma-hub-a-dub-dub never quite remembers our family name for toes. Totsies, footsies, toesies… no, no J-Ram, TOOTSIES!

Anytoes, my tootsies have been keeping toasty recently thanks to my very thoughtful Lambaid of Honor. E sent me home from the wedding with a relaxation kit full of bath goodies, an eye mask and these darling slippers.

I’m not sure how she pulled it off, but she found slippers that commemorated my Weddingbee moniker! Look closely at the tag:

Lambie!

I died from the cuteness, especially the sweet eyelashes, the serene smile, and the pink bow!

I wear them pretty much every day, all day, as I started working from home when I moved to Durham. Not only are they functional, but they remind to blog and they remind me of my great friendship with E. She held my hand when I was freaked out about being late for formal photos. She held my dress up when I had to go to the bathroom. If that’s not friendship, I don’t know what is. Thanks my dear!

I haven’t been a bridesmaid yet, but I’m tucking the relaxation kit idea away for the right time. I really appreciated it and think it was a great idea!

Do you have any other great ideas to treat the brides in your life?

Ha! My Italian husband always calls toes “tooters” - he can never remember the word for them. (In Italian, the word for fingers and toes is the same.) Love those slippers.

My mom bought me Lambie brand slippers, a robe, and a throw blanket when I was sick this winter. They’re the best things ever!
