You MUST press play and listen to this while you read my post today. I promise it will make it so much more fun!
OMG it’s been too long. How has everyone been? I’ve been busy being a mom. It’s a lot of work but I really want to get back into blogging. We last left off right before the reception, where we were striking a pose. Now it was time for our grand entrance as Mr. & Mrs. Dumpling! Did I tell you that I tried to have a Beatles-themed wedding? Well, Mr. Dumpling wouldn’t let me get that yellow submarine cake, but he did give me free rein over all of the music selections. HAHA sucka.
Our friends walked in to “With a Little Help From My Friends”
We walked in to “She Loves You”
First Dance “Here, There & Everywhere”
Father/Daughter Dance “In My Life”
And then later in the evening he serenaded me with “Here, There & Everywhere” since it’s one of my favorite Beatles songs. Side note, if i had to pick a favorite Beatles song it would be the medley on Abbey Road beginning with “You Never Give Me Your Money” (but I always start at “Golden Slumbers”) and ending in “The End.” OhMuhGawww I could listen to that for hours, but there was nowhere to insert that bit of music during the wedding.
After we made our grand entrance, we immediately jumped into the dances. We did all of the traditional dances- you know, Bride/Groom, Father/Daughter, Mother/Son… but really, I think those are boring. Sorry, but every time I have to sit through a 4 minute song while I watch people dance… and then have to watch 3 or 4 more scheduled dances in a row, I usually get bored, play on my CrackBerry and start resenting my salad for staring at me. So in an effort to not lose any of our guests in the first 10 minutes, we decided to cut each dance down to a minute thirty.
I’ll give you a photo tour of all the crazy dancing.

AND! Look who showed up at the Dumpling wedding! Elvis Presley! He was supposed to be the surprise guest and sing our first dance song (it was going to be “Love Me Tender”), but he was fashionably late. Oh well. You should have seen all the ladies at our reception. You would have thought the real Elvis was there because after he sang for me and the mister, they all lined up to take pictures (and some women requested kisses…). He’s like, I dunno, 30 years old, and these women all turned into cougars. It was one of the Dumpling wedding highlights.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

After everyone was done groping Elvis, a couple of guests decided to have a Michael Jackson dance-off, well, because, dance-offs are cool and I’m pretty sure they were bored. Think “Beat It”.

The kids got in on the action, too. This is my nephew and my flower girl, 2 years old and in toddler love.
Then some other girl came along and tried to break up the happy couple.

But my flower girl wasn’t havin’ nunna dat: (”No, sorry… he’s mine. Buh-bye.”)

Those two kids danced together all night. Adorable.
Did you have any crazy/silly dancing at your wedding? Was Elvis there?
