If You Had Told Me 6 Months Ago…

January 26th, 2010 @ 1:43 pm by Mrs. Nachos

… that I’d be stalking rubber stamps online, I would have laughed and told you that you obviously know nothing about me. Oh, little wedding bug making me think about the little details I never thought of before…

After I decided to go to the pros with our invites, I decided that I wanted to add a special touch to each. I thought about getting some sort of stamp for the inside, maybe something floral or swirly to put along the side of the wording because they seem a little plain…

And then I stumbled upon this awesome rubber stamp…

I thought it would look so cute on the back of the invitations! I initially found it onJo-Ann’s website, but of course it was one of the few they were out of. So I went digging for it and I found it for $2.98 on Webstore and snatched it right up! For some reason, that one stamp had me looking for more – I turned into a stamp loving, gotta buy more stamps, psycho stamp stalking girl. I looked around on Etsy and found these…

I decided I HAD to have an address stamp. It would make it so much easier to address the envelopes for our home party!! I ordered one, got an email within the day from the seller asking for the details to put on it, and it’s on its way. I’m excited that we’ll have a stamp with our married name and address. I’m gonna be a stamping fool. Too bad we’re moving in September so our address will change, but hey, maybe I’ll order a new one when the time comes! Who knew I’d end up loving stamps. I certainly didn’t. I’m beginning to think this wedding is creating a monster.

Did your wedding planning make you end up feeling like you NEEDED to get something you’d never thought twice about before, or am I the only loony?

I am a stamping fiend as well! I originally wanted an address stamp to avoid writing our address on everything. Then on etsy I found a great seller who does a monogram type stamp, plus an address stamp pre-name change, and then one for after! They are perfect and will save us tons of time.

I am also stamping and embossing the invites I am making, but that is mostly as an homage to my grandma who taught me how to stamp when I was younger.

I got the “All you need is love” stamp for our invites, too! Though, i think I spent $6 on it at Michaels.

There are so many things I’ve become obsessed with that I never thought I would. For me, its my centerpieces. I never thought I would care, but now I’m so in love with my flowers in jars idea that I found myself squealing over antique milk jars in an antique store the other day! Totally out of character. What is the wedding doing to me?

I’m with you 100%. I am a stamp lover now. I started wedding planning with zero and now I own about 7. No lie. It’s a little embarrassing. And I’m probably about to add quiet a few more.

I ran out and bought the “All You Need is Love” stamp too. I saw it somewhere and decided that I HAD to have it. Luckily, my Joanne’s had it in stock :) I still have to find a place to use it though.

I too am now looking at other stamp options…address stamps, monogram stamps, swirly envelopy stamps…

I love the Two Sisters address stamp line. They’re custom made… ours is sort of like this one. Self-inking too… so not messy at ALL.

I want an address stamp SO BAD! I just can’t justify the cost because FI and I won’t really be settling anywhere for a few years. But as soon as we do? I’m getting one!
