About Mrs. Espresso

Truth be told, we were having so much fun dancing and talking with all of our guests that we forgot about the cake. That is, until we saw this little guy already digging into one of the red velvet cupcakes.

Weekend Mountain Wedding: Red Velvet and Taffeta : wedding pictures pro pics recap 15 1

So we scurried our fancy butts on over to the dessert table and started to cut the cake. We never planned on having a cake. We were content with the cupcakes, caramel apples, and cheesecake and just figured we’d feed each other half a cupcake. But on the morning of our wedding, our cupcake caterer surprised us with a mini cake for us to cut. Loved our vendors!

Almost there…

Seriously… cutting one tiny cake with two different hands is more difficult that you would think! :)

There we go…

Wait… what’s this face of Mr. Espresso’s?

Nevermind, I’m starting to look a little mischievous myself

We had already talked pre-wedding that we wouldn’t be smashing the cake in each other’s faces. I understand that some people love it, but we decided on just going the “feeding nicely” route…

until half the bite dropped down my dress, that is.

Weekend Mountain Wedding: Red Velvet and Taffeta : wedding pictures pro pics recap 9 9

Oh, the feeling of having smooshed red velvet between your boobs, in front of all your family and friends, and not being able to do one tiny thing about it…

Weekend Mountain Wedding: Red Velvet and Taffeta : wedding pictures pro pics recap 10 10

We laughed it off and kissed. I had red velvet all over my hands and didn’t want to get my hands on his shirt…

But then I remembered that it was already in my dress, it was our Wedding Day, and I LOVE this man! Screw the Red Velvet stains—now we matched! ;)

Nicely, for sure! Um cupcakes, caramel apples and cheesecake sound too good to be true ( and are totally along the lines of what I want dessert wise) but F Stripes wants to cut a cake….and how perfect is that little cutting cake??? Yay! What a super solution! Thanks!

Yum! So you have probably already posted about this elsewhere, but where did you get your perfect hair flower?

I love your mini cake! We had the opposite problem, our cake was melting from the heat. We didn’t do a smash–my orders. :)

Hahaha, I have mentioned several times to FH that I will be seriously pissed off if he tries to smash the cake in my face…We’ll see tho, he’s just that evil to go and try anyways…

I have given Mr. Library a visual of where on my face he would even be allowed to smoosh cake. It’s a small window so that our red velvet won’t ruin my dress! I cannot wait!

Haha, cute! Maybe we should have stuck with white cake, given our propensity for dropping food, as well. ;)

Those photos are awesome - you two are such a gorgeous couple! Um, I told FI that I don’t want any smashing and he just grinned mischievously. Looks like I’m outta luck, haha…but, we’re super playful with each other, so it’d be very “us” to smash the cake.

Sweet surprise by your cupcake vendor. very cute mini cake n the red velvet looks delish. The little guy eating his cupcake looks adorable in the pixs as do you guys. Great choice on taking the non-cake smashing route.
