Branches Filled with Love…

January 27th, 2010 @ 1:39 pm by Mrs. Buttons

I have acquired a love of Manzanita branches. This will tie in nicely with the bird/tree décor inspiration that I’ve accumulated thus far! My biggest inspiration, and hopefully a huge focal point for our venue, is a wish tree guest book.

This is the initial photograph that sparked my interest…

(you might recognize this as one of Miss Frozen Yogurt’s inspirations as well!)

I love the idea of setting up the tree in a place where it will make a statement.

And I have the perfect location for it…

As guests arrive at Carlouel, they will walk into this front entryway. The couches will be removed, but in their place, we are placing a large table with the wish tree on top! Guests won’t be able to miss it, and they can take the opportunity to leave us a note either before the ceremony or during the reception.

I love that the tree will transform from bare branches to ones that are filled with beautiful papers replete with advice and well-wishes for our future! I’m going to have to scour some stores for crystal garlands (I’ve seen some great ones at Target around Christmastime) to hang in the tree, and I’ll have to find some beautiful paper that the guests are able to write their messages on (and figure out the perfect size for them, as well).

It’s a go! Now… I must shop for some of those dad-gummed Manzanita branches…

I love it! I’m doing a wish tree also. I don’t know if I can name a website here or not, so I won’t say where I found them online but they are out there! Good luck!

what color branches are you looking for? I have a ton (of smaller ones) that I am looking to unload.

@Miss Frozen Yogurt: I bought a box of big clear crystals at Target right after Xmas….as well as some little white and silver bird ornaments (about an inch or two big). Someone also gave me the idea of buying one of the crystal door curtains (remember those!??!)…I thought that was a pretty good idea…if I can find one!

I am doing this as my Guest Book! I found a great deal at http://www.manzanita.com/trees2a.htm . They send you a full display, which consists of three branches. A large centerpiece display 30″ to 36″ is only $30!!

The base of my family/friend/wish tree is going to be covered with pictures of our ancestors as a way to honor those who built our families. The “leaves” on the tree will honor our new family!

Look forward to seeing your final product.

We are going to try to do them too! We looked into the bead curtain and I think it will work. Found it for like 20 bucks. Also, on ebay, there are a few sellers w/ reasonably priced branches - and he said 1 was enough for one centerpiece. We will probably fill in w/ curly willows so we dont have to spend a lot on the actually branches. Those are really only needed if you are hanging heavier things like votives!

Speaking of which, i consider my self an expert on searching for manzanita, because im going to do it for our centerpiece, and am thinking of doing those tree wishes, i suggest on going to koyalwholesale.com you can find the crystal garland for really cheap as well as the manzanita branches, or there is someone in classified that actually selling 8 branches for $45
dotn buy at ebay as they will overprice you, i’ve even made spreadsheet to list each vendor and how much their selling manzanita lol
Yes I’m cheap and i hate buying overpriced stuff for my wedding

@mellisanne: I love the idea of adding pictures! That is very neat!

@Miss Pug: Haha! Well, I ordered the branches, so now I am not allowed to abandon the project!

@mandstan: Ooooh pearls are a great idea too! :)

@orecookie: Oh yay - thanks for the garland link…I have to check that out!
