I'm planning a half-destination wedding on the beautiful island of Oahu - imagine a plethora of movies, art and games; savory Hawaiian food; blended Chinese and Japanese cultural details; lush, fragrant tropical flowers and all the air conditioning a NorCal native could want! And once I marry the love of my life, we'll come back to the 'mainland' to party it up all over again in my hometown of Salinas, the salad-bowl capital of the world!

Program Power! Part 1

January 27th, 2010 @ 8:39 am by Mrs. Sewing

After seeing how well-received our save-the-dates were with our future guests, I got the go-ahead from Mr. Sewing to return to Photoshop!

Program Power! Part 1 : wedding programs stationery Working011

“No Mr. Sew, you may NOT use the computer right now, I is BUSY.”

The idea, this time, is a little more ambitious. Wonder why I haven’t given you the story of how us Sewings met? Well, it’s because I’m drawing it out - into a 4-5 page manga to put into our programs!

First, I started with my pencil draft, which I scanned into the computer so I could draw over it in Photoshop.

The finished line art!

Program Power! Part 1 : wedding programs stationery 2 2

And finally finished with tones (shading): (No text until the whole thing is finished, sorry!)

Program Power! Part 1 : wedding programs stationery 3 3

Now, would it be unethical to “exaggerate” our story to make it more exciting? Like add some ninjas, a love triangle, and some cute cuddly mascot characters?

How are you telling the story of how you met your future spouse?

I kind of feel like you almost HAVE to have ninjas in there, at the very least.

Definitely ninjas. And I think you need a cute little animal sidekick, kinda like Glomer from the Rainbow Brite cartoon.

hahhahaha please add the Ninjas!!! If I was a guest at your wedding I would love it! I wish I had your talent. My brother is a graphic artist but if I even thought about asking him to make me something even similar to what you are doing, he would totally kick me or something. Keep up the good work!!!
