Hellllloooooo Hive! ‘Tis I, Miss Hot Wings!

I was working on papers in front of the computer and checking email non-stop like I do every day. And then IT came. The email from Mrs. Penguin.

I thought, ‘They made a decision already? Darn. That’s fast. It’s gotta be a no.’ In anticipation of a no, I skimmed the email quickly.

… We’ve reviewed your application… la dee la… you’d be a great addition to the Weddingbee team…

You want who? me? No! Are you sure? Wait, what? Rewind.

I am shocked! Stunned! In utter disbelief! And completely honored. Wow. Thank you for having me.

Who am I, you ask? I’m Miss Hot Wings! Yay for me. I’ve only been obsessed with Weddingbee since I discovered it 4 months before I got engaged. (Don’t judge. I know some of you can relate.)

Why Hot Wings?

Because I am pretty passionate about them. Our first engagement party even involved going out for Wings & Beer night! They’re also being served during cocktail hour at our formal reception...

Mr. Hot Wings and I have been together for over 4.5 years, lived together for over 3 years, and have been engaged for 1 year. We are planning our semi-destination, sunny-San Diego, culturally blended, semi-formal wedding affair from our home in Chicago. We’re both psychology graduate school bums who spend the majority of our days in front of computer screens.  He’s obsessed with all things University of Illinois related (Go Illini!) and a total beer snob. I’m easily excitable, swoon over all things photography, a total tech nerd wannabe, likely crafting while I watch reality TV, passionate about food, totally cheesy to the core academic, and obsessed with getting my money’s worth (i.e., I bargain hunt like nobody’s business, but I have no problem splurging when appropriate). You can expect lots of DIY projects, bargain hunting tips, technology projects, photos, photos and more photos, with tons of cheesiness all the way through.

We (mostly I) are planning our semi-destination, semi-formal affair. Our mission is to have a wedding weekend that blends our cultures and traditions, honor the people who have shaped our lives, and bring our communities together. So join me on the path that ends at a wedding reception for 400+ guests. Say what?!? The story will follow on that large guest list number and the challenges of having a gigantic affair on a budget.
