This past weekend was just amazing for Burger and me. We made a trip to his hometown for my first bridal shower with his family. It was an intimate affair filled with lots of love - and it was ridiculously fun!

Burger’s family is just wonderful, and they always make me feel so at home. This was a very special day for me, because my parents were finally able to meet a lot of his extended family members!

Lots of food, mimosas, desserts, games, and presents later - my love cup was overflowing.

The beautiful flower arrangement Burger’s aunt had made, complete with a fantastic Lladro statue that Burger’s mom got for us - she knows how obsessed I am!

I usually don’t like the games that are played at showers, but this bingo game seemed to be fun for the guests! Plus it gives you something to think about while the bride is opening gifts!

Speaking of gifts, we got so many! Everyone was so generous, and it was really sweet to read all of their cards.

Then we played more games, including one I had been nervous about for a long time - the “How Well Do You Know Burger?” game! I was so worried about getting all the questions wrong, but I did OK. They played a version where I had to put a piece of bubblegum in my mouth for each question I missed.

Burger’s Mom, myself and Sister Burger - who had some exciting news herself this weekend - she got engaged!! We are so freaking excited for them, and I can’t wait for another wedding in the family!

It really was a wonderful day. I love family, and spending time together is just the greatest, isn’t it? The best news? I get to do it all over again this weekend! Coming up next: pictures from my shower and bachelorette party in the ’Burgh!
