Bring on the Rooster…

January 29th, 2010 @ 12:30 pm by Ms. Stripes

Bring on the Rooster… : wedding food Srirach sriracha

Sauce, of course.

Since we’re bringing out the big guns this week: rings, rights, flowers, and photography, I think it’s only appropriate that we also talk about food. Food is definitely a big gun. A big delicious gun. Have I mentioned how much I LUUUUUURVE food? Um. Hello, my name is Miss Stripes and I’m marrying a chef!!!

So let’s talk about food. Delicious, mouth-watering, eat-it-with-your-hands, rooster-sauce-splashing-everywhere type food. Food people in LA stand in line for. Yeah, yeah, I know people in LA will stand in line for anything, but I swear it’s really that good! Seriously, look at the line:

If you’re scratching your head and wondering why I’m showing you a pic of a roach coach on a wedding blog, think back to that whole intro business where I said our wedding was being catered by a taco truck. I wasn’t kidding! Say what? Yup. A Taco Truck. And not just any taco truck either—The Kogi Truck!

Witness her in all her taco truck glory:

Sigh. Isn’t she pretty?

And the food. Double sigh. The food is absolutely gorgeous and our guests get AS MANY TACOS/BURRITOS as they want! Plus they get our personal favorite—The Kimchi Quesadilla, not to mention the amazing sliders…

Witness the mouth-watering beauty:

We’re super excited to provide our guests with amazing food (lots of it, if they want) and it doesn’t even break the bank! Yay! Not to mention that it’s the perfect food to eat in between all the drinking and dancing we hope our guests will be doing.

What about you guys? Any plans for rooster-sauce splashing food festivities at your wedding? And I’m just dying to know if anyone’s ever been to a wedding with a taco truck? Do tell.

I think it’s awesome that you are having a taco truck provide your catering! It’s fun, unique, and gets the job done and i’m sure it will be something your guests will rave about after! We are actually having my FSIL cater our at home reception and my FMIL provide home made sauce for the italian dishes. We tested it out at the engagement party and everyone devoured the food! I still get compliments to this day!

In your intoduction post I remember you mentioning a taco truck and I couldn’t wait to hear abou the details. I am so excited that you posted this. When I first got engaged my family and FI were talking about food. The first thing that we suggested was to have a taco truck at our wedding! Everyone got excited about this idea, and anyone we tell about our idea gets excited too. However, we are worried about the logistics of it. How can they feed 150+ people in a short amount of time. Will they be reliable? Things like that. In Columbus, OH there are about 20 or so trucks that are around the city, but I have never seen any cater an event. I would love to know how you cordinated this.

Ooh, yummy! I’m having the In-N-Out truck cater my wedding this summer. Similar vibe, but yours is way more original!

Years ago when I moved into my old apartment, the first thing I purchased food wise was Sriracha Rooster sauce! I love it and umm if I happen to be in LA in September do you mind if I stop by at your wedding? :)

I shouldn’t have read this on a day I didn’t go to lunch!! Love it! My friends did something similar for their at home party after a Caribbean DW and it was a hit!

Thats awesome! Ive never eaten Kogi but my friend stalked them for like a week to go get their food and when she got there the line was almost 1 hour long! But she waited and said the food was great. Your guests will be so lucky, especially if they know what a big deal a Koji truck is (and to have it all to your self!)
