About Mrs. French Fries

I posted a while back about how I’m letting my bridesmaids pick their dresses from the Aria collection online. My only limits were that the dresses be knee-length and in the black silk shantung fabric. I was hoping that my bridesmaids would be able to get a few more miles of use out of a LBD than a bridesmaid dress in our other wedding color: pink.

I’m happy to report that all of my lovely ladies have made their selections! I had wondered if they would all (by some chance) pick the same dress. Nope! They’re all wearing completely different dresses, and I know they’re going to look fab.

And now, it’s time for a breakdown (… no you’re never gonna get it, never ever gonna get it… En Vogue, anyone? No? OK.)

The LBD — Little Black Dress : wedding bridesmaid dress Dresses1 dresses1

So, just imagine those lovely frocks in black silk instead of the rainbow that’s currently represented up there. I don’t have Photoshop, and thus couldn’t change them myself. So, use the powers of your imagination! Like I said, I know they’re all going to look great — and I can’t wait to see all of my ladies rockin’ them on W-day!

What is your favorite bridesmaid’s dress designer that allows for lots of different styles in matching fabrics?

Ya know I never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually pretty happy with David’s Bridal in this regard. I like Aria’s dresses better (they are much higher quality, after all!) but for my purposes, I had to find something affordable for bridesmaids that will be spending a ton of money to travel to my wedding (and most are in grad school or entry-level, low paying jobs!) They have some decently cute things and great prices.

If budget wasn’t an issue, I really love Anna Elyse…check out their line here - you can pick a certain fabric/color, as well as a silhouette, and the girls can choose from a variety of necklines. Here’s the site: http://annaelyse.com/collection/silhouettes. Gorgeous dresses….just too expensive for us.

Those look awesome! I am trying on bridesmaid dresses from Aria this weekend for Miss Sox in the City’s wedding, so I am hoping they are as pretty as they look in the pictures!

Those are all so cute, I especially like the 2 strapless ones. I’m actually surprised that none of them picked the same dress! I think they’ll all look so good next to each other and they’ll definitely get more wear out of the LBD.

I love all those dresses! They are going to look awesome! :) I would have thought that at least 2 of them would have picked the same one, but I love that they are all different.

I did the same thing with Aria, figuring they could get a few more miles out of a LGD (little green dress). Very cocktail appropreate. I know that with their lines of work/crazy social lives there will be plenty of opportunities to wear it again.

That was really the only way i could justify thank kind of expenditure.

I also did Aria dresses for my bridesmaids. One word of caution for the ladies who dont’ have strapless dresses: without the boning the dresses are kind of flimsy in the silk shantung so I would recommend substaintial undergarments. Honestly the ones without boning didn’t photograph well, they looked sloppy.
