I can usually be found with my nose in a book, my feet (or at least my toes) on the ground, my head in the clouds, and my arm around the prettiest girl you ever saw- aka Fiancee Stripes. Together we’re planning a FUN vintage/modern French carnival wedding extravaganza and rockin’ dance party on a dime. (Say that three times fast!) Good coffee, long lists, Uniball pens, and my iPhone keep me sane, and making art, making trouble, and making out keep me happy! I love urban adventures, bike rides that end with afternoon drinks, breakfast for dinner, beautiful light, photography, travel, my furry family, and of course, my beautiful fiancee! I’m super excited to be here and can’t wait to share all our adventures as we craft a joyful, budget-friendly, design-savvy and all-around AWESOME wedding!
About Ms. Stripes

Bridesmaids Three-Way.

February 1st, 2010 @ 12:40 pm by Ms. Stripes

Or Menage-a-Trois for you Frenchie wannabes. But get your beautiful minds outta the gutter! While what our ‘maids do post-ceremony is their business, what they’re wearing for the ceremony, well that’s all our business… (rubs hand together and smirks with absolute glee). Finally, a wedding related decision that’s right up my alley, yo!

I have to admit that although a few purchases have been made, there are quite a few directions our ‘maids/ fill-in-more-awesome-title-here ensembles could go. Three directions, to be exact. The way I see it, they can go light, bright, or B&W. Sorry for the rhyming, but sometimes it just works out that way. :)

So I present for your consideration three different versions of our lovely ladies. I think in an ideal world we’ll have a combo of either light or bright w/B&W for a nice little French twist. Sounds like a plan, right?

So, hold onto your hats and prepare for the pretty! Here’s what I’m talking about:

Bridesmaids Three-Way. : wedding bridesmaid dress 1 1

source, source, source, source, source, source, source

Bridesmaids Three-Way. : wedding bridesmaid dress 2 2

source, source, source, source, source, source, source

Bridesmaids Three-Way. : wedding bridesmaid dress 3 3

source, source, source, source, source, source

Thoughts?

En Francais s’il vous plait!

I love them all! I wouldn’t even know where to start choosing one!! I’m really digging the patterned look, since solids have dominated the bridesmaid field for so long now.

I KNOW you will end up turning it out and amazing us all! Please tell where those incredible dresses in the lower right hand corner of “Light” are from…. I more than NEED them in my life.

:: dusts off French, apologizes for plethora of grammatical errors::

Je pense que j’aime noir et blanc le meilleur, mais c’est parce que nous utilisons les robes noires!

Or, that is to say…I like the black and white best. :)

I agree Mrs. Mouse, I really like the patterned look. But let me caution: If you go for light, stay away from that light pink. I had to wear a light pink this past summer. Collectively, we looked like cotton candy. Individually, we were washed out.

Miss Stripes, you are fast becoming my new favorite bee!! I love the light and bright inspiration boards - I do a agree with Twista though, depending on your maid’s skin tones, light pink could make them look washed out (pale redhead here who had to wear light pink to a wedding last summer, and was practically see through, lol!)

So hard to choose, all your options are great! It is probably between light or bright, though.

I really love them all. I love the way light looks except I guess I’m selfish and want to stand out, haha. :)

They all look fab, but I’m loving the brights! They’ll really pop in your photos.

The upper left-hand photo in the second board (the mismatched floral BM dresses) is one that I’ve been OBSESSED with for months. I’ve got it in my board as well.

I love the lights! And where do I find the chiffon-y looking light pink dress in the very upper right corner? It is exactly what I am looking for!

I agree with Twista and Valhalla - I was in the same wedding with Twista (we know each other for real!) and light pink was THE WORST color for me. I looked like a ghost. Not kidding… the color blended with my fair pinkish skin tone. Ick. Needless to say, that dress was donated quickly after the wedding. There was no way to dye it a different color.
