About Ms Potato Chips

Pchipz in Da House

February 2nd, 2010 @ 10:48 am by Ms Potato Chips

The other day I was on the train (because that is my life: either on the train, waiting for the train, missing the train, or running, arms-flailingly, towards the train as it leaves the station) and Mr. Potato Head called.

“We got the house!” he said and for one split second I paused, like you do when you wake up and don’t know what day it is, and I considered the possibility that we’d been house hunting and had worked out a bank loan, met with realtors, and put it in a bid. And then I remembered that a) no, that never happened; b) he was talking about the beach house we wanted to rent for the wedding, and c) I watch too much House Hunters.

Ahh, the house! We’re renting it for the whole week prior to the wedding and offering it to our wedding party as a place to stay.

And I look forward to spending the week before the wedding there, in utter beached-out bliss. (Save your rainy-day thoughts of last-minute stresses and scurrying; I am blissful in my ignorance!) The beach house will also be home to our rehearsal dinner—I’m thinking low-key clambake? New England style!

The winter is so dreary and my hours at school seem longer and longer, with endless stacks of papers to grade and novels that don’t seem to end; I am thinking beachy thoughts to keep me warm! Anyone else?

When I went to school in RI, I had such a hard time finding the beach! It was kind of funny since it is the “Ocean State.” That house looks amazing and I will be thinking warm, sunny thoughts for you!

So fun! I wish I could think beachy thoughts, because I have a beach house waiting for me whenever I want to use it, but I just keep thinking stressy thoughts. I can’t get out of stressy school and wedding mode. :p

@LindsayJeff: Ugh, seriously, I hear you. At least once a week, I’m there, having an asthma attack on the train platform.
@Professor: Thanks!
@Miss Scissors: I’m trying to use beachy thoughts to counteract the stressy school thoughts.

It’s soooo adorable and New England-y! I watch too much House Hunters too! I had your exact thought process after reading his words.

I wish I was on the beach right now. I’m seriously over this snow and daydreaming of the honeymoon to Jamaica . . . only 10 months away.
