Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Now we’ve tackled the environment, aging, tightening of pores, acne, and puffy eyes.

In the last post of this series we are going to tackle dark circles. That’s right, I saved the best for last. Now, on a normal day I don’t have really bad dark circles, so it was hard for me to test this out. I kept waiting for the right time to do it, and then that time came like it was fate. It was last week and I was drowning in work, sleep deprived, and trying to keep up with my JM work outs. You can guess which of those three suffered the most. Sorry JM!

What you need:

  • 2 tsp sour cream
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley
  • 2 squares cheesecloth

Instructions:

Chop parsley finely, mix into sour cream. Place half of mixture into the middle of each square of cheese cloth, fold into little pouches, put one on each eye for 10-15 minutes.

I love cheese cloth and I’m not really sure why, which is why it saddens me to say that I didn’t have any at my house. I went to the grocery store to buy some, but they didn’t have any, so I ended up improvising with paper towels. I know, I know. I totally cheated and am not even following my own beauty regimen. I’m sorry! But I hope that I was still able to reap the benefits.

In the end I felt like I noticed a slight difference, but nothing drastic. I’m thinking this is one of those that you need to do several times to really make a difference.

So, anyone up for trying this last little trick out? What other tricks do you have for the hive?

hehe. then you can eat it afterwards as dip! it looks tasty. i have serious eye circles, but they are there regardless of whether i am tired or not. i think i was just born with thinner skin under my eyes. but I’m always game for a new idea, so thanks! I’ve never heard of this one before.

… can I eat it afterwards? Seriously, I could eat sour cream by the spoonful Okay, I liked. I DO eat sour cream by the spoonful. So, so good! But I’ll have to try this, cause I have MASSIVE circles.

I love sour cream, but I don’t really like smelling it–the thought of putting it that close to my nose kind of grosses me out! You’re a brave guinea pig, Miss Fro Yo.

Ladies I have sleep/allergy/hereditary dark circles/puffy eyes and my wedding make-up girl recommended Preparation H… i swear! Sounds horrible and it was pretty humiliating walking into CVS asking where to buy this but let me tell you.. IT WORKS! It takes any red/puffyness out. Put it on before you go to bed and wake up looking fabulous. Even my fiance started doing it because he said it’s made such a difference on me.

Very interesting. Does anybody know what it is about sour cream and parsley that is good for dark circles? I’m sure there’s something behind it, but I can’t help but be a little skeptical!

This looks like a good dip! I have the worst dark circles, so maybe I should give it a try. Or eat it.

YUM YUM sounds delish!
I’ve heard of another trick, but unfortunately I havent tried it out yet. You place 2 green tea bags in hot water and steep for 2-3 mins. Remove the tea bags and squeeze the excess water out and place each tea bag under your eyes while laying down for ~5 minutes. If anyone tries it… let me know if it worked for ya!
