I am obsessed with vintage scarves and handkerchiefs.

Whenever I’m flea marketing/thrift storing, I’m always drawn to beautiful, printed scarves but can never come up with a good idea for a way to display or use them. Yet, I still find myself buying hordes, mostly because they are super cheap (usually just a dollar or two).

When I saw this picture, I immediately thought it was a beautiful yet easy/cheap decor option…

So simple. And so pretty.

Thank you, Jill Thomas Photography, for now giving me a good reason to go pick up a few new scarves on my next flea market extravaganza…

Who knows, these may just have to make an appearance somewhere in the wedding weekend…

How else would you use vintage scarves in your wedding?

Those might also be super-cute under your centerpieces!

TOTALLY going to get some now to go with my mason jars!

I love vintage handkerchiefs! I’ve been collecting them for a few years now and probably have over 75. Some were my grandmothers, but I’ve found a lot at thrift stores and flea markets. I saw that clothesline picture, too, and was trying to think what type of event I could host post-wedding where I could steal that idea.

I, too, am obsessed with colorful vintage hankies. One idea is to use them as cocktail napkins for the cocktail hour. I’m considering this, but still am undecided.

As napkins! Or sew them together as table runners. If you used a loose stitch, you could CAREFULLY cut them apart.

LOVE. We’re thinking about using vintage hankies as cocktail napkins too….but I’m just not sure I can stand everyone dirtying ‘em up that way!

I wouldnt use them as napkins if you love them and don’t want to see them possibly ruined with lipstick smudges and food! maybe under a centerpiece or something? or string them along the walls like little flags! haha.

Beautiful! If you decide not to hang them, you could always put them in a basket for people to grab pre-ceremony in case they shed some tears of joy for you and Mr. TM!

It’s also really easy to turn them into throw pillows for casual ceremonies or cocktail hours. And then you can have them in your home afterward!

I like the idea of incorporating them in your centerpieces. I wouldn’t want people wiping their foody mouths all over them unless you’re willing to part with some!
