Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Table Numbers

February 4th, 2010 @ 12:46 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Once we made the decision to assign tables, it meant that we needed to figure out what we were doing for table numbers. I say that like it was a chore, but I was SO excited. I’d seen so many cute ideas for table numbers and part of me was sad that I had no reason to come up with my very own idea. But thankfully, all that changed.

I went back and forth about what I wanted to do for so long. I knew that I wanted something rustic, but also vintage, and I hadn’t seen anything that really encompassed both of those things. However, as I kept looking I found a lot of inspiration from the hive. Let me show you what I came up with and then tell you how I was inspired:

Table Numbers : wedding decor reception 13 1

Table Numbers : wedding decor reception 23 2

So first, I was inspired by Miss Trail Mix’s birch logs and even contacted her Etsy seller. We don’t have birch trees anywhere near me, so I couldn’t tackle this on my own.

Then, I posted about how I wanted little metal numbers and said I couldn’t find them anywhere. And then Weddingbee reader KMSull pm’d me and told me she had exactly what I was looking for. Best of all, she let me borrow them and then I’ll just send them back to her after the wedding so she can use them. SO sweet!

And the final piece is the random white animal. I’ve been collecting these from Goodwill and have 7 of them so far. I knew I wanted something vintage to add to the table numbers and they were the perfect touch!

However, I do have a question for everyone. You’ll see that I posted a picture of both a letter and a number. I can’t decide which I should use. I could use the letters to spell something, or I could just go the traditional route and use the numbers.

What do you think?

Yaaay for KM! She rules. Homegoods/Marshalls etc always have little white animal figurines too. I have a few bunched up on a shelf in the living room.

Numbering your tables would be more traditional. How many tables are you having? I think spelling something would be really cool.

I agree that numbers would be more traditional if thats what you like…I personally like the idea of spelling something out. We’re branching out from the traditional numbered tables, and I love having little unique touches to the reception that allow you to show your personality. Any ideas on what you’d like to spell?

Spell it out! Both are good, and your centrepieces are adorable - I love the birch tree AND the ceramic animals. But if you’re leaning towards spelling, I say go for it. One more chance to be creative - I’m assuming you have something in mind?

Cute! I’m thinking of using trees to hold our numbers, too. We still have our Christmas tree out back, because I plan on getting around to cutting off the branches and slicing the trunk! I like numbers better than letters. Less confusing.

is that a pig or a cow? no matter, too cute. yay for kmsull! that’s awesome of her. i vote for the numbers, mostly because i’m lazy and i wouldn’t want to take the trouble to spell things out. these are adorable and perfect for vintage/rustic!

@Dancy905: I know! I think so too, the only tricky thing is that I can’t reuse letters or that would be SUPER confusing, so I’m torn!
@farmersdaughter: I’ve come up with LOVE so far, super original, I know. :) And that’s not enough letters, but the duplication thing is difficult to avoid!
@gill84: I’m trying to think of stuff, I’d love any ideas!
@Miss Pug: He’s a cow, and he’s for milk, but I thought he could hold flowers instead, just like the duck. :)

I kinda like the letters. Also, are those animals part of a set? They’re really cool!

I prefer the look of the numbers myself. I love the overall look though! So wonderfully rustic and whimsical.

@Mrs. Mouse: Nope, they’re random finds on several trips to Goodwill. I still need a few more, so I hope they get some more donations! I’ve bought all of them from about 4 different goodwill stores.

Hmm. Are you going to have each table with just one letter so that it spells out a word? A word that would become apparent from looking at a seating chart board or something? If you decide to go this way you should tell us how many tables you have and we can help you brainstorm words/phrases that would fit :)

Those turned out so great! The little animals are so cute! But I do think the number might be a little easier for your guests to understand.
